Trump just needs to keep hammering the Democrats on Bidenomics until election day.

Donald Trump in Arizona: Biden’s Mass Migration Is Skyrocketing Rents, Housing Costs for Americans

Former President Donald Trump says record illegal immigration to the United States on President Joe Biden’s watch has sent rents and housing costs skyrocketing for Americans.During a speech in Phoenix, Arizona, on Thursday evening, Trump focused on the Biden administration’s transformation of the United States-Mexico border into a European-style checkpoint where tens of thousands of migrants cross every couple of weeks, are briefly detained, and then released into the nation’s interior.

“In total, crooked Joe has imported more illegal aliens than the populations of 40 out of 50 states,” Trump said. “This is unsustainable.”The result, Trump said, is sky-high rents and housing costs for America’s working and middle class who must compete with a growing number of foreign-born residents for limited apartments and affordable homes.

Trump is either ignorant or lying. The increase in rent and home costs is due to huge corporatiuions buying up homes and getting all the profit out of them that is possible.Biden sued one of them for monopolistic actions. The Dems are pushing a bill to stop them. https://ny1.com/nyc/all-boroughs/ne...ffordable-representative-adam-smith-congress- No repubs has signed on.
Congrats, you and Trump are both wrong.

No, home prices aren't where they are because large corporations are buying up housing. That is such a small part of the market. There are multiple factors that require a more nuanced discussion but the biggest is supply not keeping up with demand. If you have a growing population and you don't have more supply there's a really good chance prices will increase (short of more people living in the same houses/apartments).

But instead of addressing that they simply blame institutional investors because clearly there are people (such as yourself) that buy it. Thus they propose legislation that will do nothing (but it makes them look like they are doing something, and again, clearly there are people who buy it).

You are wtong. https://jacobin.com/2024/05/single-family-homes-rentals-wall-street When the corporate gouging on rents and pushing up of single family homes occurs, the rest see they can also elevate prices. The corps give talks telling the others how they can maximize profits.
Biden is fighting them in court.

Offering grace, if one doesn't follow real estate and understand how the markets work I suppose it can be enticing to see a socialist website state some evil corporations are behind the housing crisis in this country and your beloved politician is fighting them on your behalf. I get that that narrative feels good.

But it's not the issue.

Austin rents and property values are crashing because so many people from California are going home.
Wrong again, Walter.

Researchers say the price drop is because the labor market and rent supplies are increasing.

Actually, it’s largely because of a novel concept call building more housing. We in California (and other coastal cities) don’t like to subscribe to that idea.

So by that logic Rent prices in California should be increasing. :palm:

Oakland led Zumper's list of annual rent declines in California cities, with the cost to rent for a one-bedroom unit in the Bay Area community down 9.1% in 2024 compared to the past year. Sacramento took second place with a decrease of 8.1%, followed by Los Angeles in third place with 5%.2 days ago

I’ll give Oakland credit for this, they have allowed new development in recent times. And that additional supply is why we are seeing rates drop. (Of course many one bedrooms still cost over $3K/mnth which I’m sure is pretty eye opening to many folks around the country.)

It is not Immigrants that are raising Rent and Property prices- IT IS THE GREEDY SLUM LORDS AND REAL ESTATE MAGNATES- LIKE DONALD TRUMP, FOR EXAMPLE, THAT ARE INTENTIONALLY OVER INFLATING THEIR RENTAL AND PROPERTY COSTS- SOMETHING DONNIE HAS BEEN CONVICTED OF IN COURT!

Donald Trump is wrong for AMERICA, and unfit for public office.
