If you buy domestically then noone is going to import anything and there will be no tarriff and the country goes broke because it has no revenue.

Everyone must purchase a certain amount of essentials each year to survive. If that amount happens to be $20,000 and you make $100,000 then 20% of your pay goes to them. If you make $50,000,000 and you purchase even 10 times that $20,000 that is $200,000 and only 0.40% of your pay goes to them. Oil is a global product and it's price per barrel is expressed in the US dollar because it is the largest and most stable currency in the world. Even foreign countries use the US dollar to express the cost of their oil so other countries don't have to get out their fucking calculators to determine the cost. When we purchase oil we pay with the US dollar and the foreign country can convert that to whatever denomination they care to.

but petrodollar means all the OTHER countries must ALSO use the dollar, this is deal was made with the oil producing countries as the gold standard ended under bretton woods.

the end of the petrodollar and the rise of the petrojuan is a serious blow to the dollar, and the American empire.
