Trump Media & Technology Group (DJT), the parent company of Donald Trump's social media platform Truth Social, sank more than 22% in midday trading on Monday following its blockbuster debut last week.

The stock drop comes on the heels of an updated regulatory filing early Monday that showed the company taking on heavy losses and facing "greater risks" associated with the former president's ties to the platform.

Same for Twitter.

You cannot expect respectable companies to advertise in a sewer.

Which was the crazy part of buying twitter for so much money, it had no obvious path to profitability. trump's fake twitter is even worse, by far. he is left suing his own partners claiming he made a terrible deal.

Musk, like trump, is delusional. For Musk it is probably the money. He actually believed that people love him so much, they would increase ad buys on Twitter once he made it a 'free speech' haven.

He learned first hand what happens when you allow everyone to voice an opinion.

Sane people are overrun by racists/misogynists. Not unlike some threads here.

how long did it take for Amazon to make money?

how long did it take for Amazon to make money?

Amazon had revenues of a lot more than $4 million in in those years it was losing money. (It made its first profit in 2001.)
Amazon was also seeing extremely large growths in revenue.
1995 - $.5 million in revenues
1996 - $15.75 million in revenues net loss of $5.8 million (Compared to revenues of $4.1 million and net loss of $58 million for Trump Media.)
1997 - Amazon goes public - $147.8 million in revenues - Net loss of $27.6 million
1998 - $610 million in revenues. - Net loss of $74 million.

Trump media isn't Amazon. It isn't showing growth of 800% or more per year.

With Musk it was he couldn't keep his mouth shut then found himself with his wallet shoved in his own throat and forced to buy Twitter because he had locked himself in legally.

Think about it for a minute. Musk wants to make a massive Everything App, that can sell you car insurance, get you a date, order a pair of shoes, watch a movie, plan a vacation, keep in touch with your friends from elementary school, etc. So far OK, but his first move is to fire most of his programmers. He needs a huge number of programmers, and instead he fires the programmers he has. Now he tries to hire new programmers, at below market salaries, but without any of the old perks that Twitter used to have. And all this with any prospective applicant knowing how he treated the last programmers.

So obviously, no one any good is applying. It is becoming a joke in the field that anyone who applies to Twitter is too incompetent to get a job.

Well at least he still has one of the greatest names for a micro-blog, Twitter... No, he decided to change that to the letter X.

I am trying to figure out what he bought for the $44 billion. It might be the most amount of money lost by any single person in the history of the world.
