Do you think it was the same back then? The Confederate states were breaking the union. We had a Civil War. Trump has not turned his remaining insurrectionists loose on America but it is likely he will. It will b a happy day for you.

So you think there are times when the president should just simply ignore the constitution?

I don't think the founders would agree with you on that.

Lincoln was locking up political opponents with no trial, basically if you spoke out against the war you were arrested and incarcerated with no rights

How are you ok with that?

Why do you rightys bleat about Trump's free speech rights and then laugh when Trumpy's take Pence's away? You people do not know how illogical you are.
During Viet Nam, we killed some protesters, like at Kent State. I suppose during civil wars, we should table the constitution for a while. We have to save the union first. Trump has zero respect for the Constitution. Trump dispensed with it to try to steal an election.
