I want to know your perspective on Freedom. Explain America today totally free.
If you are smart enough you will elaborate on why this is your perspective on freedom.
I'm asking this because I know that most if not all freedoms come with a cost. "freedom fighters" never really consider the cost, they only consider the freedom.
So, explain Free America Today.
What is a Free America? I dont know what that means. Where can I get some of this Free America?
Dunce.
What is freedom? Now that's an interesting concept. To be really free, it would mean without any governance. You can do whatever you wish to do without anyone telling you that you can't. But societies do not do well with that do they?
Instead, we call it liberty. The ability to pursue your dreams and happiness with the least amount of Government intervention, but still have the protection of laws for doing business and enforcing agreements, protecting intellectual property through patents and copyrights, a military to defend our borders and having a law enforcement agency to protect us from those who would attempt to steal our hard earned wealth.
I would say that the real question is how much of our liberties are we willing to give up as we sit by and allow the gigantic expansion of our Government into every facet of our lives. Because with every act of legislation our politicians pass, there is an erosion of those liberties.
Do we want to become dependent wards of the state? Or be free from it? These are the pertinent questions to be answered in the haze of today's bitter partisan bickering. You see, we the sheeple, do not win when a particular party wins the White House or a particular election if that party finds the Constitution to be an inconvenient hindrance to furthering their political agendas.
We win when we educate ourselves about how to enhance our liberties by limiting the power politicians hold over us and enforcing laws to prevent monopolies and oligopolies.
If anyone is serious about the concept of freedom and liberty, how is that achieved by a massive brutal progressive tax law and Bureacracy like the IRS? How is it achieved through redistribution and wealth transfer schemes conjured up by political apparatchiks? How is it achieved if we must rely on the benevolence of our Government for our healthcare or our retirement income?
Those are just a few of my thoughts on freedom and liberty.
