That's not the point, If a business expects to make a certain amount, they're going to charge accordingly.

They can charge what they want but in a free market there is no guarantee will anyone buy at the rate they charge. They are not going to charge less simply because the government gives them handouts.

Oil subsidies often come by way of assistance to buyers. There are programs that subsidize the purchase of fuel for farmers and the poor. They both should be cut or eliminated.
