Yoder's decision to reject a plea deal offered by the government, which has typically resulted in probation for many other defendants, led him to a bench trial overseen by U.S. District Judge Royce C. Lamberth. In May, the senior judge of the D.C. court rendered a guilty verdict on all four counts against Yoder. Subsequently, on Friday, Judge Lamberth issued a sentence of 12 months of imprisonment for two counts each and a six-month term for the other two counts. These sentences are to be served concurrently, culminating in a total of one year behind bars.

In addition to the prison term, Judge Lamberth imposed a 12-month period of supervised release, accompanied by a $1,000 fine. Yoder was also ordered to make a restitution payment of $500 to address the substantial damage exceeding $2.9 million inflicted upon the Capitol during the breach. Yoder's legal predicament began in July 2021 when he faced four misdemeanors: unauthorized entry and presence within a restricted building, disorderly and disruptive conduct within the same restricted premises, violent entry and tumultuous behavior within the Capitol, and engaging in protests, demonstrations, or picketing within the Capitol.

The potential ramifications for Yoder included a maximum prison sentence of three years, along with fines totaling $210,000. While the government recommended a 13-month incarceration, a 36-month probation period, 60 hours of community service, a $500 restitution payment, and a $16,646 fine, the final verdict reflected a different outcome....

" The Arizona Department of Public Safety put out a rough estimate of 7,000 cars in the caravan, not 41,000, spokesman Bart Graves told The Associated Press. He added that estimates of 96 miles did not come from DPS. It remains unclear how many vehicles were involved in the event and how far they stretched."
