LOL... that is what I thought you meant... but they can also arrest you as I stated. detaining Zimmerman would mean bringing him to the police station for questioning, yet he would be free to go. ie... he would not be arrested and be spending up to 48 hours in jail (without charges). But they had more than enough to arrest Zimmerman and hold him for that 48 hours while they sorted out the details.
