Gabby Douglas' Hair... Really people?

No, of course not.

"I personally think the problem with Gabby's hair is, it's "Christian" hair. It's on top of a head that gives GOD all the credit and glory for her accomplishments. I think THAT is what they have a problem with.... Her God-loving Christian hair!"

"You can have whatever racist sexist perception you like, this wasn't about her being black or female, it was about her being Christian."

His own words right there in front of him and I have 10 bucks that says he will try and twist them to avoid admitting he did indeed state the comments were made in order to attack her faith.

No, they ridiculed her hair because it's not PC to ridicule her Christianity. It's the new standard.

You don't like her faith or politics? Find something else to attack her for, and pretend THAT is the reason.

Well, I'd ask you to provide some proof that these people were REALLY attacking her faith when they hate on her hair, but as we've learned, you live in DixieWorld and you just will not provide proof to back your allegations.

Dixie why would black women, who are most likely Christian themselves, ridicule her for being Christian?

Bingo. Over 63% of black women attend church. With their hair all done up nice and purty.

Did ANYONE see the Fox Report on how her leotard was not USA enough because it didn't show enough stars and stripey shit?

Controversy has steadily swirled around the 2012 Olympics. From doping, to dating, to hair styles, the heated talk has yet to cool. Now, the uniforms of gymnast Gabby Douglas and other US athletes are being scrutinized as part of a larger unpatriotic theme.

In a recent segment on Fox News' "America Live," guest host Alisyn Camerota commented on how Douglas -- who wore a pink leotard when she performed her now-famous floor routine and subsequently scored some gold -- and other US Olympians have not donned red, white and blue ensembles:

There was a proud moment at the Olympics yesterday when 16-year-old Gabby Douglas won a gold medal in gymnastics. The crowd went wild with cheers – though we’re not hearing the chants of "USA, USA" that we’ve heard in some Olympics gone by. And some folks have noticed that American athletes’ uniforms don’t carry the Stars and Stripes look as much as they had in past years. The famous flag-style outfits worn in years past replaced with yellow shirts, gray tracksuits, pink leotards. So how do we show our patriotism at the games?
Camerota spoke with guest David Webb, host of The David Webb Show on the SiriusXM Patriot channel, about the purported lack of patriotism.

Fashion was at the helm of the argument, an argument that first flared in mid-July when it was revealed that the US Olympic team's uniforms, designed by Ralph Lauren, were produced in China.

Webb noted that gymnasts "adjust their uniforms within boundaries sometimes," but he still had an issue with the "anti-American feeling."

'What's wrong with showing pride?" Webb asked. "What we're seeing is this kind of soft anti-American feeling that Americans can't show our exceptionalism. Frankly, if they are offended about our showing our exceptionalism then they have that right and I don't care. And neither do most Americans."

Douglas' pink leotard is just one example of a US Olympics uniform lacking an Americana motif, according to Fox. Camerota noted how the 2012 Olympics poses a stark contrast to the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles, where spectators literally wrapped themselves in American flags, citing Salon's David Sirota.

"If you want to be in the Olympics, you're playing for your country," said Webb. "The Chinese are wearing red predominantly as that's their national color, if you will, so why not us with the red, white and blue? There's a meaning behind the red, white and blue that has been lost."

NewsHounds, a website that critiques Fox News' "fair and balanced" content, did not find the argument succinct.

"Here’s a hint [on how to show patriotism at the games] Ali," said NewsHounds writer Ellen, "maybe by cheering on our athletes and their accomplishments rather than whining about their uniforms and questioning people's patriotistic expression."

I thought Dicksee didn't use sources? Of course, I also thought Dicksee wasn't capable of the level of smarm shown in this thread, either.

This has nothing to do with Gabby's religion. It has a lot to do with the right's outrage over her hair and outfits. She's received some criticism from other black women ove3r her hair and so what? Let her do what she wants with it. The uniforms are a different story. According to FOX, she's unpatriotic.

on 8/5 Fox started that 'she's unpatriotic' shit.. and the 'look at her hair' soon followed.. which is simply a euphemism for 'nappy-hair' .. and of course she's unpatriotic, she black.. and as we all know, Obama's black and socialist so Gabby must be too..

as I said on our site...

besides the fact that we did wear red white and blue

besides that Gabby's wearing her colors when she literally won the fucking thing

I don't see any whining over Ryan Lochte or Phelps wearing black?
images

Or complaining that Missy wore a "OMG" black bathing suit instead of the stars and bars...
missy-franklin-world-record.jpg

Gabby Douglas vs Phelps,Franklin Lochte.. I wonder what the difference could be..

I just can't put my finger on what separates Gabby from the other two..

I'm sure it will come to me..

*rolls eyes*

Fox outed their racism with that one.. and 'uncle tom' doing the outing should be ashamed of letting himself be used by people wouldn't serve him dinner in their restaurant if they could get away with it..

Still and all, I believe someday we will have a Christian President of the United States. Maybe I'm a dreamer but...I'm not the only one.

Bah, that cult will never be mainstream. I mean, only 3 Billion followers on the planet? Not even close to getting big religion status.

This has to be the stupidest of arguments. She gets to do her hair the way she wants and she has more gold medals than any of you. You get no input. This is just dumb. I can't believe anybody read these articles without disgust and a refusal to ever read another written piece of drivel by any author of the article.
