Why do Lliberals defend Islam?

This is an ongoing question that never really seems to get answered, as liberals typically avoid it. But with a little help from JPP's leftist enlightenment squad, we just may get further insight into this confusing mentality. Here are some reasons why I think Liberals have Islam's back. It's a short list, but a compelling one.

1. Unlike Christians, Muslims have zero influence on the Liberal way of life. This makes fighting on their side easy.
2. Islam's impoverished masses are a natural fit with the welfare mentality of the Left.
3. Liberals always pull for the underdog, whether the underdog agrees with them or not.

What are your thoughts?

It's a question that I doubt you will ever understand. You don't seem to possess the capacity. No offense intended.

Why do people care about other people who aren't like them?

If you can't answer that question yourself .. it's because you don't have the capacity to understand the answer.

Why would you not intend to offend him? He was trying to offend you with his stupid little strawman.
 
I care that the misunderstood and unpopular be allowed to peacefully exist and express there opinion without redress from the Government.
 
Let's see: We have a childish, one-sided response from Disillusioned, a very centrist "hands off everything" approach from wanderingbear, a typical dodge, with zero effect, pseudo philosophical counter-punches from blackascoal, and a double barreled Ad hominem from Mott.

I have to say that so far, I'm disappointed, liberals.

That is fairly illrelevant as to why I defend them. I feel they are about as silly as any other organized religen, with a small radical faction that is more violent than other religens.

It's a legitimate question that you refuse to answer. You're intellectually dishonest, coal. Just come clean with your opinions. There's nothing wrong with admitting that you defer to Islam and detest Christianity.
 
Why do liberals defend Islam? Not being strictly a liberal, I can't answer for them.

But I can answer why I defend Islam. I took an oath to defend the US Constitution against all threats, foreign and domestic. And the US Constitution promises freedom for ALL religions. So when one is attacked, I defend it. I do not defend the actions of individuals when they harm others. But I do not convict people of crimes they did not commit or because they might commit one later.

Are you suggesting that there are no bad guys in the Palestine / Israel conflict? That both have legitimate arguments and we should just leave it at that?
