GOP Platform: Women Not Human

I wonder what the platform really says.....it's certain it doesn't call for restrictions on abortions needed to save the life of the mother, despite what Darla has claimed.....

Republicans again back strict anti-abortion platform

These are the same people who want to classify ketchup as a vegetable in the school lunch program.

Funny how you left this part of the report out crash....

"This is likely to be the third consecutive presidential election in which the Republican candidate for president - George W. Bush in 2004, John McCain in 2008 and Mitt Romney this year - has a more lenient position on abortion than the party's platform.

Bush, McCain and Romney all oppose abortion but have said it is acceptable under certain circumstances, such as when a rape results in a pregnancy."

Now why would leave that out? Why to paint Romney, and republicans as lock step with proposed positions that haven't even been voted on yet...Dishonest comes to mind in fact.

Because we're talking about the party platform not individuals beliefs.

has the platform been formally adopted as of today? And please spare me that you and others won't try and hang any anvil, real, or imagined around Romney's neck up coming because your party doesn't have anything to run on but sleeze.

GOP Official: Women Who Get Pregnant Through Rape Are 'Blessed'???

Self-Rape-By-Todd-Akin.jpg

August 21, 2012

An official from Missouri’s Republican Party on Monday defended Senate candidate Todd Akin after he suggested abortions should not be allowed in any case because victims of “legitimate” rape victims could not get pregnant.

GOP 4th Senate District Committeewoman Sharon Barnes told The New York Times “that abortion is never an option.”

In an interview with KTVI-TV over the weekend, Akin had said that “the female body has ways to try to shut that whole thing down,” referring to pregnancy after so-called “legitimate rape.”

If you had read the article you would have found...

"The platform - a statement of principles that is not binding on Republican candidates - will be voted on, and likely approved, by delegates to the Republican National Convention next week in Tampa, Florida.

Many of the Republican delegates who have shaped the platform in recent years are among its most conservative members and reflect the party's move to the right in the past decade."

We know Romney is RUNNING more to the middle, against the statement of principles his party represents and would go right back to the principles if elected.

I guess that makes sense to you .. but it doesn't to me.

Well, please correct me if I am wrong, but is it not liberals in our children's schools taking bag lunches away because they say that the lunches packed by the parent aren't nutritious enough? Let's take a journey in the way back machine shall we, all the way back, I am kind of worried that a republican like the evil "Bushhhhhhhhh" was in office, to February, OF THIS YEAR....

NORTH CAROLINA - A North Carolina grandmother is very upset after her granddaughter’s home-made lunch was taken away at school.
School officials said it wasn't nutritious enough.
It happened to a 5-year-old pre-k student. The student's lunch was taken away and she was forced to eat cafeteria chicken nuggets.

Wow! the Obama 'lunch bag brownshirts' caught this 5 year old with contraband...A Turkey sandwich, when Breaded, fried Chicken Nuggets were on the menu....The nerve of this young lady...And you're worried about whether or not Ketchup is classified as a vegetable or not? Really?

Still grasping at straws are we? You can't have it both ways, either Romney is a flip flopping moderate, that helped mold health care. Or he is a closet far right winger that is just shy of totalitarian fascism...Make up your mind, and let's see.

Is this one of Obama's policies? Let's hear the rest of the story, j-mac. :D

Yoo-hoo! j-mac - what say you? Why did you run away? Is this an Obama policy or not?

That's the argument you want to have, because that's the argument that you mistakenly believe makes you sound sane.

It isn't about killing unborn children. It's about mothers having the right to choose whether or not to keep or kill their own unborn children. Not anyone else's. Your word-twisting hysteria comes straight from the Christian Righty Zealot playbook. Be proud; you're now associated with the nutball wing of the GOP.

Darla's (and my) stance has nothing to do with dictating to others. I maintain that CHOICE to keep or kill one's own unborn child is the issue. It is you and your ilk that wants to make that decision for all women.
They want to force the discussion with their language.."killing babies" which they think starts with a fertilized egg. We're talking about birth control and women's health and choice. They're full of self righteous shit.

Murderers, and their willing accomplices will tell themselves anything to justify it in their own minds...The fact of the matter, is that when conception occurs there is only one thing that fetus becomes....A human child.

The fact of the matter is, women will exercise dominion over their own bodies whether mouth-breathing cavemen like it or not. Suck on it. Mothers get to decide. End of story. Law or no law. Abortions have been taking place for ages and will continue to, even if christ-y nutballs manage to overturn Roe v Wade. Furthermore, since you're a man who will never know what it is to bear a child, nor is your choice in the matter of whether it stays or goes relevant, your opinion on the issue carries zero weight, whether you scream 'murderer', or whine and snivel about 'sanctity', your passion is no more valued than gnat shit, because as a man, you have the luxury of CHOOSING complete and utter detachment from the situation, even if you're the father.

i'm rather shocked at the vitriol coming from some of the women on this site regarding the issue. i think speaks volumes about their own morals.
