the bystanders were hit by bullet fragments and ricochets

still, i wonder if all of the rounds fired were needed or were they a reaction to the surprise of cops

still, a bummer for those unintentionally hit

given the note found in the shooter's apartment, it looks like his end was suicide by cop

According to the article on CNN, 3 of the bystanders were hit directly, not by fragments or ricochets.

i guess that your information is more up to date than mine, last i heard on cnn it was ricochets and fragments, but that was a few hours ago

I think I saw where the police issued a statement to that effect. But \\||// posted a link earlier from CNN that said 3 people were hit by direct fire.

He has probably deleted it, so I'll look.

so tell me then, how is it that police officers who haven't trained with moving targets or targets with the ability to fire back are much better in gunfights than former marines who have at least trained exponentially more with firearms?

There was not much movement. As I said in another post, if you watch the video you can see that between the time the officer drew his weapon and the criminal fell, he had only taken one step. The movement wasn't much, and at that close range shouldn't have matter a lot.

I guess your version of the video doesn't show the first officer moving to his left and then to his right, about 5 or 6 feet; nor were you able to see the second officer moving to his left about 6 or 7 feet.
It looks like we disagree; because we're viewing different footage. :palm:
