Its not fair because the reason Mitt is losing this election is his pandering to the tea party base.

If he loses it will be because the GOP establishment fell for the ruse that they needed to put up a "moderate". I guess they didn't learn their lesson with McShamnesty. This was easy to predict.

Looks like they are losing, but that can change on a dime. If they lose it will be due to Mitt's pandering to the extreem right on social issues. He fired up the Left to vote for Obama. It will also be because Mitt underestimated the American people and thought he could run on dislike of President Obama instead of putting forth any specifics.

Not releasing his tax returns was the start of underestimating the American People.

No one can win an American election on the platform of the tea party.

the only one to blame is the very base of the republican party.

The republicans courted this base of fact adverse fools so they could win elections.

They still had to cheat to win.

Now their cheating is getting caught up in courts and their base is so fact adverse you have to make a laughing stock out of your self to please them.

bye bye republican party see you in a decade.

They will hate him even more .. especially the Tea Party.

More importantly than Romney .. when he loses this election the right will go into commando mode. It's a signal that their days are numbered as a real opposition party.

Get ready to fight the Civil War all over again.

Right. Reagan was losing to Carter by 17 points at this time. I think we'll wait until people vote before declaring the loser.

A moderate. :rofl2:

Are you of the opinion that someone further to the right than Romney could have won this election?

If so, that's dillusional.

I think the adults in the republican party will start cutting their loses and realise the tea party has to be exsponged from the party.

They will have to go into the wilderness for a few years and shake all these fleas off.

They were want to do this for some time now.

They had the win in 2010 that made them think it could work.

Now they no it cant work.

The tea party will become a third party and then fade into oblivion as these old racist farts die off.

Desh you were writing the Republican Party's obituary on here after the 2008 election. The look what happened in 2010. Why don't you wait until they lose this time before you start doing it again?

Yes. A true conservative would have drawn stark contrasts with Maobama and won the election. That is why during the GOP primary there was a concerted effort by the lame stream media to clear the field for Romney

Interesting that you speak of them as being the opposition party as if your precious demalquedacrat party being in power is just the natural order of things

I agree lots can change between now and then as things come more into focus, but Romney is running a very poor campaign and there is nothing to suggest he will be able to pull it together anytime soon. Time is running out. Reagan was able to prevent the release of the Iranian hostages until after the election which really helped him, then Carter's rescue attempt failed. Carter ran a poor campaign, Obama seems to be running a much better well oiled maching.

If Romney makes a big change soon, he could be able to change the dynamics, but its looking less and less likley.

It appears to me that Romney's stragety is teetering on a shift. Over the weekend he declared that he would keep signifigant portions of the ACA, then his campaign anounced a few hours later that he would not and "clarified" his position. I wonder what kind of internal struggle is going on.

IT seems to me that the Tea Party has made it so that the Republicans cannot nominate anyone electable.

The problems with the Republican Party run even deeper. They cannot continue to win national elections when their party is virtually all white.

There are many thinking republicans who are speaking to this truth today.

In order to adopt to changing demographics, they will have to change their agenda, outlook, and vision. I'm not sure they have that capability, but they will not be able to attract non-white voters with a confederate flag in the background and Rick Santorum at the podium.

What I expect and hope for is the breakdown of both major parties.

The Democratic Party push to the right will continue to alienate the left .. which the Democratic Party does not represent.

Republicans on the right .. democrats in the center/right .. and the emergence of various political parties on the left, right, and in between.

Mitt has no common sense.

Ran against Kennedy in '92 (as if)

Ran as repub in '08 after 8 disasterous years of Cheney/bush (duh)

Ran against Obama as liar in chief and picked Ryan () as running mate.
