It is. I confess I did not know the number was that high, but yeah, it is. You can't be ignorant of the voting history in the South, and where white southerners moved their votes to once the Dixiecrats were no more.

They both have reasons for voting the way they do though, right? What do you think the reasons are that such a large percentage of blacks vote Democratic? What do you think the reason is that such a large percentage of southern whites vote Republican is?

All it takes is that the person be white (and if they are from the south it is even easier). Having had a long family history of fighting racism, I find that offensive. But while Desh seems VERY concerned about what offends some people, she didn't seem worried at all about whether I actually am a racist or not. Throw WB in the mix too, why not?

I don't really see that. As for being bigoted, believing you're a racist because you're in Alabama meets the definition I'd agree...but we all hold bigoted views. When people here knock New York, as even US citizen does quite often, that's the same thing. The only difference is my reaction, and I'd venture to say the reaction of most New Yorker's. We just don't care and we're not the butthurt kind.

The bottom line IMO, is that a lot of people here hate Desh probably because she calls you guys meatsacks and such, which I find funny, what can I say? And SF as usual is incapable of making any post, on any subject, without sputtering, enraged name calling, and abusive bullying.

And some people are too sensitive. Like I said, people here mock and slam NY all the time. Has anyone here ever seen me give even one fuck? No. Come on, grow up!
