Britain should act to bring BP's battering by US authorities to a close

What happens to fish eggs and shrimp and crab larvae and oyster seed when soaked in detergent wonder-boy?

Well seeing as the fishing industry has rebounded back and even well above pre-spill levels, I would say that is the answer to your question!! The detergents have all been broken down and biodegraded which is what they are designed to do. They are simple short chain hydrocarbons as I've already stated so in an warm environment like the Gulf they break down easily.and very quickly.

From your own link;

NEW ORLEANS (AP) — Fishing boats in the Gulf of Mexico hauled in more menhaden and other species last year compared with 2010, when millions of gallons of oil spewed from a blown well, a federal fisheries report said Wednesday.
But it's too early to rule out any long-term effects from the spill, said Roy Crabtree, southeast regional administrator for the National Marine Fisheries Service.
The Gulf's menhaden catch last year was nearly 66 percent above that in 2010, but annual catches vary wildly anyway, and we don't know all the reasons, Crabtree said.

Nice Try.

That is classic arse covering tactics, the fact is fishing is back to, indeed above pre-spill levels, and to deny that is churlish at best and wilfully ignorant at worst.

I don't have to shithead. Do you understand the definition of trepidation?

Ever heard of the Gulf Stream Idiot? If the well hadn't been eventually capped where would the Gulf Stream bring the oil?

what a hack. you claim tom can't prove his claim, but you believe you don't have to prove your claims.

what a sorry sack. the oil was never forecast to hid cape cod you nincompoop

I love the way you try to play the innocent, you claim to be super intelligent yet you want me to spell everything out for you!! Let me give you the link again to the OP article, how about you read this time!!

Yeah, I read your article.

Great journalism by the way:

lleged? Kind of sets the tone doesn't it?

Now how about telling me the source of this "alleged" vendetta by the US, since the article made no mention.

Holy Jesus, the Gulf Stream is responsible for making the UK warmer than it ought to be for its latitude. But yeh, I've never heard of it even though it was me that mentioned it first. :palm:

Then surely you know that if the oil had escaped the Gulf of Mexico, the Gulf Stream would have painted our shore with it.

Explain to me why the Dead Zone at the mouth of the Mississippi River is not subject to the Clean Water Act? After all, it's not called that for nothing!!

Who said it isn't? If anyone were caught contributing to it, they would be prosecuted. But since it is nearly impossible to identify the source from somewhere along the length of the entire Mississippi and all it's tributaries, your attempt at distraction is a fail.

So explain to me why Bermuda and Cuba had absolutely no landfall of oil, yet you claim it would magically avoid those and seek you out in Cape Cod? To answer your question as to why the Gulf Stream wouldn't deposit oil in Cape Cod, look at a map it passes by hundreds of miles offshore, that's why. Your very own Ben Franklin knew about that hundreds of years ago, yet you, with your super intellect are totally unaware.

I live on the atlantic coast. There were many months of trepidation while the uncapped broken well gushes poison towards our shore.
.

I really do not care who your new best friend is, you have a track record of picking lunatics anyway, so that fits the pattern. You have a habit of indulging in hyperbole and to say that the oil was ever likely to reach Cape Cod is just fucking bullshit.

Of course it was likely to hit the Cape if it hadn't been capped fool.

Bullshit, it was massively more likely to land on the Bahamas or Cuba, you just seem to live in a perpetual state of fear about minuscule risks.

You can not prove that.
.

Fuck off yurtroll

As brilliant as Franklin was, the Nasa photo shows a much more accurate portrayal.
The Gulf Stream does indeed reach to Cape Cod, stop being a hack.

Furthermore, I NEVER claimed it would magically avoid anywhere, just that if the spill had continued unabated, it would eventually be swept north by the Gulf Stream. Now piss off.
