Who is the greatest American Capitalist of the 20th Century?

all I know is I watched the men who built america on the history channel and my mouth was agape with wonder and adoration. I literally worship these robber barons. Everything they did is just so inspiring and awesome.

You said 20th but I'll say rockefeller anyway, even though he was most active in the 19th he was still active in the 20th century.

He literally just rocked everyone. First he didn't have any oil but met with vanderbilt and promised him the world before having the product, took a huge risk but it paid off and he got major discounts to ship his oil on the railroads vanderbilt owned.

Then Vanderbilt decided to turn the screws to rockefeller and get all the railroad owners together to charge rockefeller more to ship his oil, and he just laughed in their faces. "Fuck you and your trains, I'll just build a good damn pipe across the whole fucking country." Then he bankrupted most of the railroads for daring to cross him. Anyone that got in his way just got smashed.

My second choice would obviously be henry ford. He clearly revolutionized the world not only in making the car affordable for the first time to everybody, but also basically invented the assembly line and mass production. If you want to be all moralist about it he also paid his workers wayyyy above average for the time and treated them fairly and like a family, which inspired fierce loyalty.

Morgan, hands down. He was trusted by all the others, working as a crucial negotiator, allowing them to be as successful as they were. He was also a giant in his own right, and famously bailed out the government in 1908.

Alexander Hamilton.

Actually that's close but uhhhh....even though Churchill's blood line was signficantly improved via his American mother (which certainly would explain his exceptional talent) he was a British subject so does not count.
Having an American mother, he could have become an American with ease.
He was not a British subject.

Morgan isn't even in the same league as the greatest American Capitalist of the 20th century. I agree with Grind. Rockefeller and Ford were more significant in the 20th century and Vanderbilt and Rockefeller and Carnegie were more significant in the 19th century.
