Think about it? Which titan or industry of economics was the greatest American Capitalist of the 20th century?
The person who did the most to preserve and promote capitalism.Depends on what would qualify as greatest.
I can think of people who had far more impact that Morgan. I mean Morgan played a signifcant role but greatest? Hell I don't think he compares to Ford, Carnegie, Melon or Rockefeller.Piossibly JP Morgan had the most impact.
Topspin had the least.
Actually that's close but uhhhh....even though Churchill's blood line was signficantly improved via his American mother (which certainly would explain his exceptional talent) he was a British subject so does not count.Winston Churchill.
Excellent choice but I'd say he's 18th Century. Now if we were talking greatest American capitalist of all time I'd put Hamilton as number 2 as the greatest American capitalist of all times.Alexander Hamilton.

Agreed but that doesn't make him the greatest. His legacy still plays an important role. Essiential control of the Fed. Too big to fail, etc.
Having an American mother, he could have become an American with ease.Actually that's close but uhhhh....even though Churchill's blood line was signficantly improved via his American mother (which certainly would explain his exceptional talent) he was a British subject so does not count.
Morgan isn't even in the same league as the greatest American Capitalist of the 20th century. I agree with Grind. Rockefeller and Ford were more significant in the 20th century and Vanderbilt and Rockefeller and Carnegie were more significant in the 19th century.Morgan, hands down. He was trusted by all the others, working as a crucial negotiator, allowing them to be as successful as they were. He was also a giant in his own right, and famously bailed out the government in 1908.
Be that as it may, he wasn't the greatest. Though he shared good relations with the man who was.Having an American mother, he could have become an American with ease.
He was not a British subject.
