Is It Wrong of Me to Want These People to Have Their Fingernails Slowly Ripped Out

I don't drink much scotch any more. But when I want a bit of irish whiskey, I want the stones instead of ice. Watered down whiskey tastes nasty.

I'm not much of a whiskey fan in general (though I enjoy them on occasion). Right now I'm having a love affair with gin. THAT is the true nectar of the gods and probably the only thing the brits did right other than beer and boxer primers.

When I am down in the states, on a hot summer night, there is nothing more refreshing to me then a gin and tonic with a twist of lime!

You're barking. Champagne is second only to coffee as the nectar of the gods.
:clink:

Many moons ago, when I had just left university I went backpacking around Europe and spent a couple of weeks picking grapes aka faire les vendange. On our way back to Blighty we stopped off at Epernay to see if we could get some more work picking grapes for champagne. Unfortunately all the jobs had been taken, can't say I was that bothered though.

Fine scotch? And you want to water it down? Infidel!!!
Sighhh...another neat fanatic. A splash of water or a little ice will volatilize some of the aromatics contained in a whisky or scotch and actually enhances the flavor and aroma at the time of drinking. Don't believe me? Try the Pepsi challenge. Having said that, I wouldn't recommend ice made from rural well water that's harder than Dixies head. That would certainly disflavor the drink.

Very refreshing indeed. Gin is a drink where ice is mandatory to volitilize the botanicals and bring out its full flavors. I also think mint julips and mojitos are very refreshing summer time drinks. I also find unfiltered kellerbiers, like Sam Adams Alpine Spring or CBC's Summer Teeth to be very refreshing and quite tasty too. (there actually quite nutritious too. Lots of vitamins in traditional kellerbiers.). Though I doubt a serious hop head would like it.

I have to admit......I drank gin and tonic all through law school.......haven't for a number of years, but had one last month......still quite good.......
