Obama Renews Offer to Cut Social Safety Net in Big Budget Deal

I told you already, from the money-shitting unicorn in my backyard.

lol... pretty sad that you continually refuse to answer it... but given that your masters never told you what to parrot, I can understand your desire to use comedy to mask your ignorance.

It's a stupid question and is being treated with all the seriousness it deserves.

HILARIOUS... it isn't a stupid question Dung, you just know that your answer would be... which is precisely why you refuse to give it. You claim you understand macroeconomics... yet you can't answer the most basic of questions?

eliminate the top income cap on SS withholdings....
eliminate SS benefits for people earning more money in dividends, interest and pensions than most working people earn today.....
require people with high retirement incomes to pay for their Medicare insurance coverage regardless of age....
increase Medicare coverage for low income persons.....
Make the first $25k exempt from employee withholding for SS and Medicare (retaining employer contributions the same)
Eliminate EIC (which is intended to compensate for the SS and Medicare withholding just eliminated)....
can I get a time out
You want to come at people making more in div income than the average guy.
Get off my lawn Karl Marx!

Look, if you want to make a point or craft an argument, do it and I will address it. I'm not here to answer your dumbass questions.

Just curious on this - is there anyone left who doesn't think that the government spends too much, just in general?

Only the people that actually understand macroeconomics.

Since you think you understand macroeconomics so well... where does the money the government spends come from?

Lorax asked if anyone was left that thought the government doesn't spend too much in general. You stated 'only those that understand macroeconomics'. I then asked you where it is you think the government gets the money it spends.

My point Dung is that you don't seem to know. You seem to believe that the government doesn't spend too much and in the past have stated they should be spending more. So where do they get it Dung?

Its a simple question Dung... surely an economic guru like you can answer it. Where does the government get the money you want them to spend?

It can either prinit it or borrow it, but most likely would borrow it. And real interest rates on the 10 year are still negative. Free money is hard to come by, but you should take it if you can get it.

Print it out of nothing and you devalue the dollars that people already have.

Borrow it and who gets to pay for it?

You constantly say 'real rates are negative we should borrow all we can', then when I ask you what happens when all this borrowed money comes due, you seem to disappear.

But I will try again. Say we borrow $5Trillion today via a 30 year bond (or ten... whatever you wish) What happens in 30 years when it comes due? Do you expect the future generations to pick up your tab for you?

I'm afraid that's a little bit over the head of some people here.

I don't, in general, no. I want to see the military budget cut though.

I am trying really hard to become a typical american though. I have been working on this. I'm trying to obsess about the deficit and what we're 'doing to our children" while completely pretending that the climate change happening right in front of my face isn't happening. Plus some other stuff I am doing. When I get myself really dumbed down, I'm going to fit right in, finally.

First time in my life.

I will know i have succeeded in my quest to be a stupid American the first time SF says "good post" instead of "LMAO Moron". It will be like the gold badge, proudly worn by morons everywhere. I can't wait for mine! Though I am going to get mine in cobalt blue, because that's a really good color on me.

you are stupid, the problem is what you don't know. the problem is what you think you know that is 100% wrong while thinking you are "smart"

You don't have to completely pretend climate change isn't happening. Climate change is a drag, and unfortunately, there isn't much we can do about it, unless everyone wants to take part in a full-scale revolution on energy consumption.

As for the deficit, it's definitely a ticking time bomb. It's become easy to ignore because the # is literally incomprehensible to most people (myself included); most figure $5 trillion, $17 trillion, $100 trillion...what's the difference?

Sooner or later, China just won't subsidize us anymore. Frankly, it's embarassing that a country like ours is not able to balance the budget & live within their means; it's a mirror on how we live our lives individually.

Anyway, the correct answer is that we do spend too much. If the only answer for how to finance a new program, or save an old program, is "raise taxes some more," that's just not a viable solution.

Thanks Onceler, but I have my own opinions, which I believe are correct.

1) Don't worry, you are already dumbed down if you believe the fear mongering 'man is causing climate change' despite the evidence that continuously comes out to contradict the fear mongers

2) Yes, the military budget should be cut

3) You are indeed either really dumbed down or heartless if you don't care what the deficit spending will do to future generations. You are telling them that they should pay for your stuff. That they should take the pain so that you don't have to.

China doesn't subsidize us, they have already stopped buying Treasuries. Hence the Fed magically printing money to buy the debt themselves. There is a reason the Fed had to increase its balance sheet by over $2T in the past couple of years.

LMAO

And this guy has the balls to call anyone else a moron. If this post was found 50 years from now, they would be stupefied...and murderous.

We spend too much money on war, the MIC, and profits for corporations. We don't spend too much money on the American people.
