Swedes, Greeks, French, Italian, Russian, etc.
You are free to interpret anything you want, but you'd probably be alone in such an assumption.
I'll take this non-answer as capitulation. There hasn't been anything in the news about immigrants from the groups you cited. You don't want to say because you don't want to open a can of worms that might leave you with a distasteful label.
It is different when it comes to her speciall needs child, then she talks about how community is needed!
How anyone from the right can claim that they, somehow, KNOW what someone from the left "intended" is beyond me. Clearly, she meant that it does, indeed, take a village to raise all of our children... Nothing more sinister than that.
Agreed. And idiots like the pseudo libertarian mods on this site just don't get it. Maybe one day they will grow up and realize there is more to life than puffing away on their bong
Still trying desperately to peddle your disproven bullshit?
It must be sad to have to resort to making up this kind of nonsense just to score points with the party base...
And according to Harris-Perry it is bullshit:
“I believe wholeheartedly, and without apology, that we have a collective responsibility to the children of our communities even if we did not conceive and bear them,” she wrote, saying that her belief in these shared responsibilities reaches across all lines of class, race and politics.
“Of course, parents can and should raise their children with their own values,” she continued. “But they should be able to do so in a community that provides safe places to play, quality food to eat, terrific schools to attend, and economic opportunities to support them. No individual household can do that alone. We have to build that world together.”
Nobody wants to take your kids and raise them elsewhere...but by all means please continue to spread that fertilizer/horseshit around so everyone can see just how stupid the average Rightie really is.

What group is this a code for?
No, it doesn't take a village, it takes a mother and father who care enough to be around and instill values in their children at an early age, and be role models to them as they mature and grow up, and that is really ALL it takes. What she meant, is what every liberal who spews this "takes a village" nonsense means, that liberal socialism has to be brainwashed into children when they are very young. It's not cutting it to try and brainwash them in college anymore, and a growing number of conservatives are simply checking out of the public schools, so you can't brainwash them there anymore. You need some way to get to kids when they are young and impressionable, so that you can fill their heads with socialist garbage and pump them full of emotive liberal nonsense. And this is why you think you are entitled to lay claim to our children.
All the SPIN to the contrary is what's laughable. Liberals have been ignoring the societal problem of fatherless homes for decades. About the only, somewhat recent example, of you 'caring' about troubled kids, is Midnight Basketball. You don't want a village where people look out after each other's kids and keep them from getting into trouble, you want a society where everyone is pitted against each other in little groups, who are constantly politicizing everything into a left-right issue. You want a society where godless fucks can sue people at the drop of a hat if they get 'offended' at decent moral values. You've destroyed the "olden days" and now you get on your liberal high horses, and act like this is your mission? Do you think we are fools?
I have no idea who the "we" is to whom you are referring. I do, however, think that YOU are a fool. You have absolutely no idea what I want, and you make it abundantly clear that, much like Pavlov's dogs, you "want" whatever it is that you masters tell you that any liberal or democrat doesn't want. Ring the bell, and Dixie comes out of his corner ready to denigrate anything, any idea, any deeply held belief that anyone who is on the "other" side holds to be true. Booooooring. No, it doesn't take a village, it takes a mother and father who care enough to be around and instill values in their children at an early age, and be role models to them as they mature and grow up, and that is really ALL it takes. Pinhead!Yeah, I know, I know, that crazy woman from Wasilla is a nutbagger! How can anyone take such a wacko seriously?

'Unflippingbelievable': Sarah Palin slams TV news promo in which MSNBC anchor says children 'belong to whole communities,' not to their parents
An MSNBC news anchor has ignited controversy with a TV ad promoting the network, in which she says children belong to communities, not to their parents.
Melissa Harris-Perry, host of a Sunday morning MSNBC show that bears her name, cut the promo spot to promote her program. And conservative pundits Sarah Palin and Glenn Beck are seeing red.
'We have never invested as much in public education as we should have,' Harris-Perry says in the ad, 'because we've always had kind of a private notion of children: "Your kid is yours, and totally your responsibility." We haven't had a very collective notion of "these are our children."'
'So part of it is we have to break through our kind of private idea that kids belong to their parents, or kids belong to their families, and recognize that kids belong to whole communities.'
'Once it's everybody's responsibility, and not just the household's, then we start making better investments,' Harris-Perry adds, in a subtle call for more government spending on education programs.
Sarah Palin, the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee, vented her outrage on Twitter.
'Apparently MSNBC doesn't think your children belong to you,' she tweeted. 'Unflippingbelievable.'
The theme of collective child-rearing first most famously caused trouble for American liberals when Hillary Clinton, then the first lady, made a similar argument in her book titled It Takes A Village.

So... Caring and thoughtful liberals like Harris-Perry are perfectly reasonable and rational when they infer our children don't belong to us, and Palin is the insane wacko, who is out of touch with mainstream. Understand?
So, parents are all children need? They don't need teachers or friends, just their parents. Interesting. See, mine need grandparents, aunts, uncles, teachers, coaches, bosses and friends, neighbors. My children and myself like the idea of community that supports them. I also know people who like their churches for community and the idea of belonging, but I guess you like the isolation and your children never needed anyone but you.
You get no points for being dramatic. I know that Lee Greenwood was singing in your head when you wrote that mess, but you don't believe it any more than I. You like the idea of liberals who think like you, interacting with your kids, and if a conservative, or heaven forbid, a Christian interacted with your kids, you'd literally have a cow about it.
You can PRETEND this was about community, but conservatives, especially social conservatives, have been the defenders of community, moral decent ethical community, with standards. Your political persuasion has done everything in it's power to destroy these values, to attack "family values" across the board, and ridicule anyone who dares to suggest that communities handle their own problems from within the community.
It is sick and perverse that you people will forge ahead with your plans to indoctrinate our children, under the false pretense it's about community. That is just a flat out lie that needs to be exposed every time it is uttered, and it shall be! You can go tell your "community organizer" president, to keep his goddamn socialist commie hands off MY kids! I don't need HIM, and I don't need YOU!
