Dead kids and our 1st and 2nd amendment rights...

I read this yesterday and it reminded me of you and Billy. Guess oathers and threepers never consider rising up against a repub administration.

"U.S. gun makers led by Sturm Ruger & Co. and Smith & Wesson Holding Corp. (SWHC:US) churned out a record number of firearms in 2012, government data show, continuing a trend of robust production during Democratic presidencies.

More than 8.57 million guns were produced in 2012, up 31 percent from 6.54 million in 2011, according to data released this week by the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, which has been tracking the statistics since 1986.

Almost as many guns -- 26.1 million -- were produced during Democrat Barack Obama’s first term as president as during the entire eight-year presidency of his Republican predecessor, George W. Bush, the ATF data show."

Who says we they didn't?

When I read comments like yours, STY's and Billy's I think of a bunch of guys playing World of Warcraft or something and believing that gaming strategies would work in the real world.

Actually, gaming strategy works pretty well. A coordinated offense is always good.

Didn't just witnessing the damage caused by small groups of Muslim fanatics open your eyes at all...???

Fact; Other than the 1%, republicans are idiots.
Fact; The idiotic dolts who elect republicans believe their lies.
Fact; The GOP claims to be against gun control. (in reality they are it's staunchest supporters, since it is their sponsors who will be the first to be slaughtered in a general revolt.
The GOP just isn't in a position (yet) to let it's true agenda become known.

And don't forget they support abortion, dirty air and water, and higher taxes too......:palm:

Did the Dude dictate that post for you ? sure seems like something he would say.

I should point out that the Air National Guard controls the entire air defense system of the US. If war breaks out between the people and the federal government, who do you think we'll point our rather impressive fleet of F-15s and F-16s at?

Each other, most likely, as factions are drawn. Certainly though, some would come to the rebels.

Yes, our fighter squadrons are spread out geographically. Of course, we (C2 air battle managers) tell them what to do. Any fighters not on my side would have to fight autonomously, and wouldn't have the benefit of us giving them tactical control and air picture awareness, which would make them sitting ducks for the fighters on our side.

Assuming your side maintains control, whichever side that is. And that's assuming air power is worth as much as many think it is (I don't put much stock in it myself).

The main thing is we would keep our fighters out of the hands of the government. Even if we put them to no use, that's a ton of firepower the government wouldn't have to terrorize people with.

And in the world of air battle management, there aren't a lot of C2 entities that can control our air defense fighters. Either they side with us or they are on their own, and pretty much seal their own deaths at that point. I can't speak for other C2 units, but mine is staffed by some pretty libertarian-minded people.

Air superiority would be essential to stop movement over open ground (highways and freeways) between towns.
Bridges would have to be crossed, especially on the coast and east of the Mississippi.

Is it a panic when the government has bought billions of rounds of ammunition etc for domestic use ?

A story claims that the Department of Homeland Security has purchased 1.2 billion rounds of "domestic anti-personnel" ammo. Is this true?

The humorous article was published by the satirical website The Duffel Blog on January 29, 2014. The fictitious story states that over one billion rounds of ammo were manufactured to “guard against those guarding against tyranny.”

“It won’t really penetrate any significant body armor, but that stuff is illegal to purchase anyway,” said Regina Dugan, a DARPA spokesperson speaking to reporters only on background. “These are for pacification of the law-abiding, protest prone people: Truthers, Birthers, you know the type. Don’t quote me on that.”

Although certain passages indicate a clear attempt at satire, such as, “the design is extremely effective at creating permanent tissue damage to unarmored doughy middle-aged targets,” some readers shared the article unaware that it is intended as a work of humor.

Is it true you ask....its being reported by several news outlets, so why do you question it...is it you just don't want to believe it.....
for what its worth, it is estimated that 50 billion rounds were fired in the Vietnam war over about 15 years....
about 3.5 billion per year.....what the hell does one gov. agency, the DHS need with 1.2 billion rounds of ammo....are they expecting an invasion ?
One battalion used about 6 million rounds per year in Vietnam......1.2 billion ?...you do the math....

And getting your 'news' from 'the DuffelBlog' is just as stupid as letting Jon Stewart and Bill Maher and Coldbert sway the facts with their own particular brand of
strawman spin.....the point is, various gov. agencys are buying up millions of dollars worth of ammo. Supposedly for training purposes but thats questionable in itself....

Did you actually read my post? The Duffel Blog is a satire site. They're just taking the piss.

"The Duffel Blog is an American military news satire organization featuring satirical articles reporting on US military news. It is often described as "the military version of The Onion."[SUP][1][/SUP]
