because Transgender women would leave the seat up, straight and gay women would fall in, there would be fights, it would be messy.
In public restrooms where they are designated according to ones sex, then out of respect for all, a person should use the restroom according to their natural assignment. Certainly seeing and holding your own penis, even if you wish it were a vagina, should not give rise to any discomfort when seeing another mans.
because everyone else does.
Very perceptive!
But, you know, I made a good point. We have these separate facilities because otherwise people would be likely to feel uncomfortable. Nobody thinks it's unreasonable for someone to feel uncomfortable in such a situation.
So, IMO, the onus is on the transgender to make others feel comfortable, not the other way around.
Simple Question: Should transgenders use restrooms according to their assigned sex?

Exactly, but AP why should a transgender who was born one sex but believe they are another should be forced to use a facility of their assigned sex if they don't believe they are that sex?
I like your open mindedness. How do you feel about unisex stalls for two?Women have stalls, we generally don't see what other women are doing. If a women wants to go and stand at a urinal and pee, more power to her!

I don't like your attitude, Rana. If there are no other single stalls available and you and a male are about to burst, don't tell me that you won't be sharing a stall for two.Hey, whatever floats your boat, I would not use one, but would not care if others did. I generally don't get involved with what other adults do as long as I am not forced to do it and it doesn't hurt others.

You're still inconvenienced though. You're forced to wait, or forced to another bathroom (if there IS another bathroom). Your flexibility for stupid pc agendas finally catches up with you.Nope, never had to go that bad. There may come a time, but, so far, I would just find another bathroom.

Reasonable thought on the surface. But another consideration that occurred to me, is what prevents a pervert to claim he is transgender? It just makes sense to leave public restrooms that are sex designated to their respective sexes.
It was, but you put "God" in your response, which means that your view or at least your original post, was largely fueled by your religious faith which is a conflict of reason because obviously people don't share your faith (sorry to make such a tangential sentence). Well, quite obviously I disagree with you. I think people should not be forced to be placed in public facilities simply because society says so.
To further my argument let me ask you, since you and I are both men but are of different ethnic groups and since we both have penises do you think I should be in a "colored" only facility? I say this because if my phenotype was assigned to me since birth do you think its right that because I had no control over my genes, I should be forced to use a separate public facility?
If your answer is no then why are transgenders so different if at least psychologically, they believe they are of a specific gender?
Transgender people have an easy enough time as it is. I think our society should make it harder on them by turning something as common as using a public restroom -- an everyday task that requires zero thought for most people -- into an experience that requires a transgendered person to question the very core of their identity as a human being. I want transgendered people to stand before two doors, one marked "Men" the other "Women," and to ponder the question searching deeply within themselves to resolve the question "What am I?" until they soil themselves, paralyzed with doubt. I mean, they have it so easy. Let's make life more difficult for them just so they know what it's like to be a heterosexual.
A pervert is going to find their way into the bathroom if they really want in there, it has nothing to do with transgenders.
