time person of the year redux

So a week or two ago I brought up this question on who would be time's person of the year.

Originally I was siding with Trump no matter the results, based on how our discourse has changed and clearly his run is pretty impressive in what he accomplished going from a joke to now president.

At the same time, I think the butthurt media may still want to give it to clinton, for all the work she did or what they what to pretend she has accomplished.

I also see some sort of vague "the white voter" or something like that.

Outside chance for julian assange, he changed the game bigtime.

So who do you think will get times person of the year?

Donald Trump.

Hillary was the first female running for President. True, she was born a woman through no choice of her own. She lost.

Trump was first non-politician running for President. He was the underdog and had to try harder. He was not supposed to win. He won.

I liken it to a horse race I'm familiar with in 1997. An American horse who was doing well here in big turf races caught the attention of the Hong Kong Jockey Club. So much so that the HKJC invited him to run in the prestigious International Races in early December.

This horse had a middle class ex-bartender for an owner and a kind experienced trainer who did not believe in using any drugs in horses. (Translation - no cheating) Though the horse certainly had the pedigree for long distance turf races, he was not expected to do that well by the press and punters.

The other 'candidates' in the race were experienced in running clockwise in big European races. The owners were uber wealthy businessmen and royalty like a Saudi sheik and even Queen Elizabeth. There was no way the little chestnut gelding with the big heart from America was supposed to have a chance.

The odds were daunting to be sure. The horse endured a 14 hour flight from La Guardia to H.K. 7 days prior to the race with the trainer in the box stall with him the whole way feeding him salted carrots to keep thirsty and drinking water. The horse was a little sleepy for the first day off the plane. Then.....he woke up.

The exercise rider wearing all-American jeans, sneakers and a borrowed helmet worked him daily. The jockey was a good old boy from Texas. The team now fully believed that they had a legitimate shot at the million dollar purse.

He went off at 7/1. On race day in front of 80,000 spectators he ran in his typical come-from-behind style and nailed the win by half a nose at the wire. All 80,000 people were enthusiastically cheering for the feat this horse had pulled off. Blue collar beat blue blood. At least in horse racing the losers offer their congratulations and move on. Politicians could learn a lesson.

DJT ran a race for blue collar America and won. 'Nuff said.

maybe trump but i would go with the altright tbh. Trump is a nationalist like us and weve won every fight this year from fakking germany to britain to the US.

HOLY SHIT FRANCONA IS BRINGING IN MILLER IN A HIGH LEVERAGE SITUATION INSTEAD OF JUST USING HIM WHEN HE'S NOT NEEDED WHAT A GOD

Yea but the Sox were always competitive . They didn't consistently suck year after year, decade after decade like the Cubs have.

that's why it was always more painful for sox fans. We always had a taste and had it yanked away from us. Cubs were just in the background while the fans would get wasted

Yes...my Reds created a great deal of that pain back in 75 but you weren't around back then. You should watch that series on youtube and see why it's considered the best WS of the last 50 years.

Godless ignorant communist heathen! Baseball is the greatest team sport in the world. No other comes even remotely close.

baseball was made so that white males could have a chance at a sport against physically superior black males. All your speed and muscles dont do much when your forced to stand around and watch whitey swing at a ball with a stick.

Jesus fucking Christ get over yourself. White supremacy is not what defines America.
