Now it's clean up time in the mideast -try to repair our alliances -and try to limit the damage of Russian and Iranian expansionism..
But nothing is more important then being able to deal with Russia. de-fanging Russia as our biggest geo-political threat
frees up our resources/attention to start to work with African countries (like China does with it's soft power)

and generally work to expand our influence ( without militarization)

b) Isn't it enough that we know that it did? Our government generally doesn't reveal "sources and methods".
c) I've read some reports that disclose some detail on how Russia was identified. I have no reason to disbelieve them.

apparently that's what they have been trying to do. What they recently released was supposed to provide a smoking gun. Instead it's pretty much nothing. Seems to me on the surface they can't back up their talk.

I didn't read it as a smoking gun, he was pressured to release something, and Obama has promised a more detailed report to Congress before he leaves office, I guess you will just have to wait for the full report!

As for Podesta, he was hacked with a simple password phishing e-mail, the sort of things Nigerian princes have given up on long ago because only the dumbest of the dumb still fall for it.

And all of this underway coinciding with an "anti fake news" initiative.
