Politics aside do folks on this board support our action in Syria?

What proof is there that the chemicals used in the attack came from Assad's planes and not placed by ISIS ground forces to draw the U.S. in the fight on the SIDE of ISIS, and put U.S. in a poxy war with Russia?

We know that ISIS obtained at least some of the Iraqi, Russian Made, Saddam owned, Sarin Gas mortar rounds...

Show me Proof that the Chemical Weapons came from the planes!

Why are jumping into a fight on the side of ISIS BEFORE we have that proof!?

Pretty sure they were airdropped and ISIS has no air capability?

Hey it's Alex Jones!

Deep state.... wooooooohah!

LOL, I know that. But aircraft could have been used, right? I'm not saying it would have been a good idea, obviously far riskier, but you wanted to know what other kinds of bombs could have been used.

From what I understand Mattis gave Trump several options to choose from and he went with the least risky. If we wanted to we could drop a Daisy Cutter on it but we didn't.

This is a good sign from Trump: it showed a measured response [in contrast to some of the caricatures of Trump nuking people Willy-nilly] and kept the risk of escalation at a minimum.

Proof of WHAT?

That it was Sarin Gas?

I'm not disputing that it was Sarin Gas...

I'm saying, how do we know that Assad's planes carried that Sarin Gas?

How do we know that ISIS did not march into the area, with Some of Saddam's captured Sarin Gas Mortar round in back packs, hide them in the areas being bombed, with short time delay or remote detonators... in order to set them off just after the next Assad Air Raid, to CLAIM that Assad was using Chem Weapons?

Where is the proof that the chemical attack was done by Assad's Aircraft?!

Any Sarin gas in Saddam's old mortar rounds would have decomposed a long time ago. The shelf life for Sarin in shells is a matter of months.

I do not doubt that Assad's planes were dropping lots of HE bombs in the area...

Where is the proof that the chemical attack was done by Assad's Aircraft?!

Trump is now doing exactly what Valerie Jarrent, Iran, and Obama Wanted?!

Why is Trump now doing Obama's/Iran's Dirty Work?

Firing 60 missles does not regime change make lol.

If it were that easy we could clean the world up in a week. Regime change requires boots and I've heard nothing about that.

EH; then you have to have the fly over permission, from other countries.
Now add in the better precision from the Cruise Missiles.

Now, where in the world would they have captured any of Saddam's Gas Mortar rounds from??

If you are Trump, and you find your actions in alignment with ideals and recommendations of Valerie Jarret!....

Check your freak'n assumptions!

Nope, sorry, I was torn then as I am now. Syria is a civil war turned into a hodgepodge of international players and we have no way of knowing the players.

I support humanitarian aide for the people suffering in this conflict.

I did not support Obama and his drone program.
As we now learned, 'Arab Spring' simply doesn't work. We have to let these dictators deal with their uprisings the way they have for decades. This one started in the same way the others did....U.S meddling in the affairs of other regimes, as if democracy has been so successful here.

Not that we don't have our challenges but what other country has had a better democracy or economic success? I mean without knowing you maybe you think the world is doomed and no country is worthy of imitating.

1. The strike did not take out the chemical weapons Assad used on his people. Those are still stockpiled and ready to be used again.
2. Putin was told by the American military that the strike was coming.
3.Putin, in turn told the Syrians that the strike was coming...there wasn't any surprise.
4. The planes hit were ancient and will be quickly replaced by new Russian bombers.
5. The airfield was not very damaged, the 1000 pound bombs did not crater the runways, planes are taking off an landing there , right now.

Putin allowed Trump to make this grandstand play so the American people would become distracted from the investigation and his orange puppet could regain some political capital...( that worked obviously). Trump looks decisive, compassionate and like a tough-guy.
Vlad has called all the plays and he is quite happy with the outcome. His puppets Assad and Trump have done everything he asked them to do. Vlad, Assad and Donald all come out smelling like a rose and no one was hurt except the Syrian people.

This was a "feel good" fireworks display, not any kind of real military action.
Still the only policy the Trump team has in Syria is to do whatever Vlad wants done.
Congats America you have been duped again!
What a difference a day makes. Assad thumbed his nose at trump, and bombed the same town again today.

So much for any perceived bump in ratings. He's been exposed as a pudgy, impotent fool. The only question that remains is....is trump stupid enough to escalate further, after being exposed as an incompetent ass?

No reason for me to be careful. Every despot Dictator around this world that is causing shit should be taken right the fuck out. Any "leader" that is killing his or her own innocent people for political agendas, screw em. No reason for wars when all one has to really do is cut off the head. There is nothing immoral about that.
You're forgetting that cutting the head off of the monster, creates a bigger, badder monster.

Did we learn nothing from Iraq? Libya?

I think the bigger issue was not having to 'share' airspace with Russian fighters. Russia owns the airspace in Syria, and using our airforce would have been a much more aggressive action against Russia.

All moot. The actions you applaud, did nothing more than expose trump as incompetent. Assad bombed the same town again today.

What would you suggest trump do, now that he has egg on his face?
