Cops aren't supposed to be wallflowers when opposing thugs are beating the shit out of one another.

This thing escalated way beyond what it should have been limited to. And yes, the victim's family could absolutely sue the city or whoever was responsible for standing down the cops, because their inaction led to the situation getting out of control.

The driver still would have gotten through. Police were only going to reduce injuries from the active protestors (which isn't really a good thing, when you consider who they were).

But I don't think any of the apologists are really upset about the attack. They are the typical board racists.

Can you think of a better arrangement for society than to have Nazis and Antifas killing each other on the streets? So long as the fighting is contained, no bystanders are harmed or threatened, and no property crimes are committed, it's a win-win for America.
