NFL: League NOT seeking mandate for players to stand during anthem

Bill Clinton and a democratic led Congress passed the crime bill. Most people don't like crime in their neighborhood. Hence even the CBC supporting the bill.

By your right wing talking point response about the CBC, I'll take it as you don't really want to discuss this topic.

The few Blacks in that caucus didn't speak for all Blacks nor did it erase the racist bill that was drafted by republicans and Clinton signed.

But this didn't start with Clinton, it started with the constitution.

Yep. Even though it freed up millions of dollars for community policing efforts, the lion's share of the money went to the private prison industry, with investors climbing over each other to invest in. Once in place, they had to be filled in order to keep the dividend checks flowing.

I disagree.

I can't blame the Black citizens of Ferguson, most of them couldn't vote. The city made sure they arrested lots of Blacks not only to fund their own city budget, but to also take away their voting rights.

How did voting locally help when just 50 years ago, Blacks couldn't vote?

Straight nigger lies.

Correct! There was a lot of crime at that time, but the real criminals weren't the one's going to these newly, privately funded prisons. This was/is the republicans one and only safe place they can go and get support from All Americans. Crime!

They used the southern strategy to continue the lie to the American people that crime=Blacks........

Crime does equal blacks nigger, your diseased people commit exponentially more crime than whites, 52% of all homicides are committed by nigger scum.

This may come as a surprise to you, but the very LAST thing they need is a Trump supporter trying to tell them what's the smart thing to do. An oxymoron if it ever existed.
makes no damn difference to me. I understand how to organize and how to protest.

What's going on now is a confused message intertwined with disrespect for the flag and which it stands.
It's not effective protest -it's just a lot of coverage designed to piss off more then 1/2 of America.

Democrats controlled Congress and Bill Clinton was President.

And you just agreed with Desh that the Democrats passed this based on the will of the people. She said you weren't aware and you said you were.

Really? Do you have any proof/evidence that the money went to private prisons? The answer is it went to fund the city budget but I'd love to see you offer evidence to win TTQ64's approval

I think I confused threads and was thinking Ferguson when I said city budgets but I also understand why you won't back your private prison claim because that's not where the money went when federal prisons were built.

And sorry you had acne at an old age

Your comments CLEARLY demonstrate that you don't have a clue and no one would be dumb enough to listen to you about anything related to protest, race, police violence, or black athletes.

The NFL Protesters Are Getting Their Message Across

The NFL players who have been kneeling during the national anthem as a way to protest police brutality aren’t winning any new fans, a HuffPost/YouGov poll finds. But they are, increasingly, making their point to the public.

Asked to identify from a list the main reason the players are protesting, a 57 percent majority of Americans surveyed said it was in response to “police violence.” That’s up from 48 percent in a HuffPost/YouGov poll taken in late September. (Respondents were allowed to select multiple options.)

The percentage of self-described football fans who say they believe the protests are meant to target police violence has risen to 66 percent, a 13-point increase.

Just 26 percent of the public now considers the protests to be in large part against President Donald Trump, down from 40 percent in the previous survey. As before, relatively few ― 14 percent in the latest poll and 12 percent in September ― agree with the Trump administration’s assertions that the protests are aimed at the American flag.

Their arguments are now on the international stage .. but you think they need your advice. :0)

With all due respect, why in the hell would they need the advice of some white guy Trump supporter who has no affinity for their cause, no affinity for the struggles of African-Americans .. doesn't even know what this is about .. and with little to zero knowledge of effective protests?

Let me repeat this again .. we have no argument. I'm not looking for your approval or agreement on anything. You simply have no clue. You think Trump is winning the argument.

True, so can you please explain to us why you are or are not a member of black lives matter

it's one poll and it's still around 50-50 understanding. ( and why is that graph dated Oct 17th??)

I'm glad at least those are moving away from blaming Trump for the protests

The key is looking at Pence's actions a little more then 50 -50. Tieing the protests to the anthem damages the message of "police violence" ( and did the poll provide choices? if so that's not unusual-they'll pick an issue out of the noise)

I know what this is about. In fact I think i'm the only person that has come up with a positive idea for reform.
Empower Civilian Review boards with the same power as a Grand Jury - or at least let a review board empanel a grand jury.

for all the protests, nothing is being done because all the heat and focus is on the anthem-
you need to tie protest to a solution or this is spinning wheels
