Trump likens immigrants to snakes...

The Russian fabulist Ivan Krylov, who often used La Fontaine's fables for a variation of his own, adapted the story to address contemporary circumstances in his "The Peasant & The Snake". Written at a time when many Russian families were employing French prisoners from Napoleon I's invasion of 1812 to educate their children, he expressed his distrust of the defeated enemy. In his fable the snake seeks sanctuary in a peasant home and pleads to be taken in as a servant. The peasant replies that he cannot take the risk of endangering his family and kills the snake

Brown’s daughter Maggie told the Chicago Tribune that she wanted Trump to stop using the poem, while Brown’s grandson suggested that Trump read some more of Oscar Brown Jr.’s poetry — specifically “Debris,” about the aftermath of the 9/11 terrorist attacks:

The song was penned by Chicago poet, singer, and “Grandpap of Rap” Oscar Brown Jr., and it was based an Aesop fable titled “The Farmer and the Viper”:

What a sad attitude.

We're all still Americans, and we share this country & many of its core values. You're way too caught up in politics.

you're the one constantly butthurt over what is going on. I am largely in it for the ride. My cynicism has led me to not sweat the small things.

But you have a different worldview - as a liberal, any compromise is a win for you. It moves us closer to your end goal. As a conservative, one mostly inclined to preserve the status quo, a compromise is a loss. We have moved away from my goal. So as you can see, while you like to play kumbaya and talk about how we should all just get along and compromise, what you are actually doing is saying we should all cater to your worldview. Your liberal culture privilege blinds you to this though.

I'm not a liberal.

Also, you freak out as much as anyone when things don't go your way. You'd be losing it if Hillary was President.

I've seen way too many of your posts to buy that "in it for the ride/don't sweat the small things" fabrication.

Well, I just posted them - and they said exactly what the OP said.

Big surprise, eh?

I never doubted the Laura Ingraham quote, and she's 100% right. In fact, I think she's being kind.

And just as I suspected, your "snake" link doesn't back up your lie of a thread title. Try harder. Let's see a verbatim transcript of exactly what Trump supposedly said. The CNN link doesn't do that.

See you in March? Nah, you're a liar.

Wonder why it didn’t bother you, Thingy when your Daily Kos said Republicans had mad cow disease and early dementia ?

Or when Newscorpse said Republicans are the disease ?
Or when left wingers cried that Conservatism was a mental illness….

Slight case "double stantard-ism" maybe......

You are kinda like herpes...you keep coming back, like an echo

You have a problem with rw analogies but not lw ones....

Righties aren't even disputing Trump's words; you're simply wrong about this. Fox even talked about it.

He read the lyrics that desh has posted; his context was clear as day. Again - even those on the right haven't disputed it. I'm not going to keep doing homework for you. I didn't lie - but you did when you said I lied.
