Because he said IMMIGRATION, and did not qualify it in any way. You say that we should go by his stated positions, but if you haven't seen the xenophobia and more blanket statements about immigrants (well, except maybe those from Norway), you're simply not paying attention. Trump knows EXACTLY what he's doing when he makes this kind of speech. It's all for the base, and he knows who they are.

We all know the conservative opposition to "illegal immigration" is just an opening bid for their ultimate goal of slowing down, eliminating, and eventually reversing the rate of change in the ethnicity of the US. They couldn't give two shits about "illegal immigration", they would be legalized tomorrow if they were white.

I'm pretty sure you can find legal immigrants who've committed crimes too, shouldn't we ban legal immigration? And whenever a child is born, there's a chance it will be a murder. So we should be birth. Everyone who gives birth to a child or allows it to happen is partially responsible for murder.

Good lord yurt, can you be any more dishonest? You cut off the speech before the money quote, bolded below. The word "illegal" does not appear in the speech and you can't put trump's words in Thing's mouth. Thing didn't lie but Y O U are lying, just because you don't like him and have to pile on. you really can't be serious with this line of argument?

It's not just being born here; it's about being deported ( sometimes multiple times) and returning to commit more crime.
Or simply coming here illegally and committing crimes. We are sovereign. Why should we put up with any of that?

Build the wall - keep out illegals to begin with; and then keep them from re-entering after being deported
