Fake movies? Anyone else see the absurdity of these 2 words put together? Does self-evident or axiomatic come to mind? How about FICTION? How about duh?

That is just history. There is no other version. South Vietnam agreed to an election to unify the country but backed out when they knew they would lose. That the North was communist was much less relevant than nationalism versus foreign occupation. You are falling for the old "we're fighting for their freedom" government propaganda.

You missed the question. I asked where there was terrorism in Iraq before the U. S. invasion. Of course, there are "terrorists" now, they are fighting against the invading forces. We didn't invade Iraq because of terrorism but because we thought they had WMDs, regime change, or whatever. Your history is very lacking.

Al-Qaeda was there long before the War on Terror began. Saddam’s so called army gave up on day one. After that the war was fought by Al-Qaeda who have been fighting ever since. The “invasion” you speak of was an invasion of al-Qaeda.

So we lied when we said it was because Iraq had WMD's? Your statement is the point I made originally--when a foreign nation invades and occupies another country the people of that country are going to fight until they are ousted. Then they can go back to fighting each other. Any chances of "success" in Iraq are no better than in Vietnam. If the American civilians were fighting an occupying force we would not call those fighters "terrorists."

Still waiting for a reliable history of Vietnam.There were no histories written for hippies.

Iraq was already crippled by two decades of war and sanctions before Bush's invasion. Dolts never bothered to read the history of the British in Iraq and the gassing of so many Iraqis.

You are confusing Iraq and Afghanistan. Both U. S. and British intelligence found no established relationship between Hussein and Al Qaeda. Iraq had nothing to do with 911--those were Saudis. The invasion of Iraq had nothing to do with 911.

Al Qaeda had everything to do with 911, and al Qaeda were in both Iraq and Afghanistan. Bush launched a "war on terrorism" which became the 'War on Terror'.

The term was originally used with a particular focus on countries associated with al Qaeda. Bush included anyone that gave refuge to terrorists or helped them in any way.
