It's become as American as apple pie and baseball,

are you familiar with the 1934 NFA act? the law that heavily taxed machine guns, short barreled shotguns, and supressors?
how about the 1968 GCA? the law that prohibited mail order sales across state lines? how about the 1986 FOPA? or the 94 AWB?

do you know who wrote all those laws that enacted gun control in some way, shape, or form?

The Negotiate Rights Away organization you idiots love to demonize.

so how about you open your mind and LEARN more about the 20,000+ gun laws in this country before you go spouting your anti gun talking points from moms demand

They didn't write those laws, they supported them. They didn't become political until the Dems started asking for so many stupid laws. And for your information, the NRA is still the largest private organization who trains law enforcement and the public in the safe and efficient use of firearms, not to mention conduct competitions.

And why should they have supported them? An organization dedicated to protecting second amendment rights should be fighting them tooth and nail just as every other civil rights organization does when their cause is under attack.

Its great that they do all of the training and advocacy programs they do but they also blindly support fudds and law enforcement, grandstanding on the national stage while leaving groups like GOA and the SAF to do their heavy lifting in court, fighting the laws that the NRA supported.

Don't ask me, I wasn't alive when they supported those early laws. It's obvious they don't support any new laws, isn't it? And, they do have a defense fund that defends both the constitution and individuals in courts. Many members of GOA and SAF (and other firearm and hunting organizations) are also members of the NRA. I believe we all stand together (or we should, anyway), don't we?

they helped write them, their form of 'compromise'.

We should definitely stand together but that also means we should be taking the Nra to task over not being proactive in increasing gun rights. They've thrown their full support behind Trump and fully embrace MAGA rather than using their influence to strengthen the second amendment. The hearing protection act and national concealed carry reciprocity are two big items that they could've thrown their full weight behind and gotten done had they just sacked up and shown they were willing to walk away, wallet in hand. But they don't want to rock the boat too much and they can get away with it as long as they play defense and allow others to fight their battles.

It is my choice to get in a car and drive being full aware of the risk.

It is not my choice to be put at risk because we have gun humpers watering down, and eliminating any reasonable regulation to keep assault rifles out of the hands of losers, pyschopaths, and degenerates. Most civilized countries require robust universal background checks, psychological tests, and periodic recertification for owners of firearms.

Dear liar; what countries require psychological tests and periodic re-certification for owners of firearms?

We already have universal background checks and regulation to keep ALL weapons out of the hands of felons and the mentally ill.

Perhaps you take these positions because you are a liar, or uninformed, or just a dishonest hyper partisan hack on steroids or perhaps all of the above?

There was never a time when virtually EVERY boy and girl were raised with real guns.

What part of "virtually" did you dishonestly not comprehend hack?

Today virtually every boy and girl are raised with first person shooting video games where the graphic Killing of other humans is considered a game of sport and amusement from a very early age.

And yet, there is no factual evidence to support the moronic idea that these games cause lunatics to go out and commit mass murder.

Stats show you are wrong again....and again. Your all about beliefs. You do no homework. https://www.kqed.org/science/1916209/does-gun-ownership-really-make-you-safer-research-says-no You live in a fantasy world.

KQED: How strong is this research? It seems like studies that are about gun violence come in for a lot of scrutiny, especially when people don't like the outcome.

Moyer: Actually there hasn't been as much research as we would like. That's in part due to the NRA [National Rifle Association] and the gun lobby.

The studies have been done in a lot of different ways to try to really get at the truth. And largely — there's been more than 30 studies — they pretty much all point in the same direction. There's a few outliers, a few studies that don't confirm this, but when you take all of the research together, there is enough to really make a clear conclusion here.
