U.K.'s Healthcare Horror Stories Ought To Curb Dems' Enthusiasm for Single-Payer

Please note that any party that proposed to replace the NHS with the American shambles would be wiped out entirely. The NHS is more popular than the monarchy by a long shot.

You should have a NHS party. The health of the nation is, after all, absolutely top priority- as it encompasses all other issues, defense, economics, the works.

The California prison system spends $70k per year per inmate ... of which $20k per year per inmate is for socialized healthcare. Let me repeat ... $20k per year per inmate for socialized healthcare.

How much is $20k times 330 million people?

Why do you ask? Do you intend to throw every American into the California prison system? If not, what's the relevance of that figure?

The national average cost of providing socialized healthcare to a prison inmate is $6,352:

Currently, per capita spending in the US is $10,348:

So, the difference is $3,996 of savings per person. How much is $3,996 times 330 million people?

How did that petard feel hoisting you?

It's hard to imagine anyone who could be more wrong. Government run healthcare means shortages of doctors and treatments leading to more unnecessary deaths.

I do wish you had a brain.

Do me a favor, Daisy. When you get 65 and are eligible for Medicare, turn it down. Tell them you want to find coverage on the open market. Tell them Medicare is for Commies.

The UK has good healthcare. Honestly if I could I would go for a fully nationalized system like Britain, but single payer with government insurance is good enough for me.

Meaning more taxation being poured into a system that is unsustainable.

The US spends getting on for 18% of GDP on healthcare and rising. I would suggest that is pretty insustainable. Do remember that the money going to the EU will be redirected to the NHS and indeed some of the £11 billion we spend on foreign aid could also be used in future. But yeh there may be well be a rise in National Insurance as well.

For once I agree with our man from the Welsh Valleys, nobody would dare tamper too much with the NHS, it would be political suicide. Fortunately the Tories have decided to pour £20 billion extra into the mix to honour the Brexit commitment and also to spike Labours guns.

You do realise that there is a pretty healthy private healthcare system as well, many companies offer health insurance as part of their package.

California sets the bar. $20k per inmate per year just for socialized healthcare.

:dunno:

Again, unless you're arguing against a non-existent plan to throw the entire US population into prison in California, what's the point of that anecdote? As you can see from my link, even factoring California prisons into the calculation, US prison healthcare spending per inmate is far below per capita healthcare spending for the country as a whole.

I can't you moron; it is MANDATORY. I do wish you had a fucking brain Jackoff.

These people are so stupid it's hard to even waste the effort to try and educate them.

What a moronic argument. Hey asshat, that is the COST for socialized healthcare. If you want Medicare for all, you might as well be throwing everyone in prison. THat's what Government control feels like.

You cannot educate a low IQ brain dead liberal. They are too indoctrinated into the ideology of failure. You can only mock them and their stupid ideas and bombard them with facts. That is usually what triggers them and then they honestly erupt like the hate filled assholes we know them to be. ;)

I have to laugh when my European and Canadian friends pretend they are paying less for healthcare; that's a hoot. Meanwhile, they can have long waiting times, some up to a year depending on the operations, they pay extortionist tax rates and massive sales taxes. ;)

Have you ever had socialized health care? If not, I'd recommend talking to someone who has -- for example, someone with military experience, or someone who has lived in any other wealthy nation on the planet, or anyone over the age of 65.

Dear moron; I was BORN and lived in Germany. My girlfriend and most of my best friends are Canadians and have lived in Canada. Don't try to lecture me on something you have ZERO comprehension about dumbfuck.

Their healthcare systems SUCK. They know it. They just can't change something that has been around as long as they have lived. The notion that we would want the same costly shitty system as they do comes from brain dead leftist hacks with the IQ of a lemming.

I probably have been to more countries than you could ever hope to see in your pathetic miserable lifetime as well.

Prisons are the most Socialist places in America, ... that's why they are also the most racist places.

Inmates are typically healthy, strong, younger males. There are relatively little medivac chopper costs, or ambulance crew costs, ... and few women and children. Yet the Icon of Socialist States, Cali., ... spends triple the national average and double the per capita rate, ... and that's where we are all headed if Socialism wins.

California sets the bar for Dem socialism.
