The UK has good healthcare. Honestly if I could I would go for a fully nationalized system like Britain, but single payer with government insurance is good enough for me.

The US spends getting on for 18% of GDP on healthcare and rising. I would suggest that is pretty insustainable. Do remember that the money going to the EU will be redirected to the NHS and indeed some of the £11 billion we spend on foreign aid could also be used in future. But yeh there may be well be a rise in National Insurance as well.

As you can see from my link, even factoring California prisons into the calculation, US prison healthcare spending per inmate is far below per capita healthcare spending for the country as a whole.
