China says its 2018 trade surplus with the US was the highest in more than a decade

if you haven't figured it out in the meantime the increased trade deficit now is because of our booming consumer buying last year

US economy is absolutely booming. we'll easily hit 3%+ GDP growth

OK, who is actualyl seeing that growth?

Not the 90% of workers whose real wages are flat or declining.

Not those with assets tied up in the market, which is lower than it was pre-Russia Tax Cut.

Not the farmers who needed a $12B bailout.

Not the 5 million people who lost health insurance.

Not the housing market, which is down.

So who is seeing 3% growth, really?

December was a monster month for wages and jobs.

If you subtract the wage gains for the top 1% out of this, what does the wage picture look like for most workers? Shitty.

Going back to October, we saw wages grow 3/1%, however wages for the top 1% grew by 3.7%, which means wages for the bottom 90% of workers grew at a pace equal to, or slower than inflation.

China growth is slowing down but we are still not

By this time next year, we will be in a recession.

That's when you'll float your lifeboat, but it'll be burned.

not going to debate your weid economy again.
The approx 500k new manufacturing jobs speak for themselves as does ALL ECONOMIC INDICATORS.

Recession? ROFL!

You said that raising tariffs would reduce the trade deficit, yet the opposite happened.

So at what point do we say Conservatives are just making it up as they go, and should be ignored in the conversation?

no i didn't. raising tariff's slow down growth by a very small GDP % point.
They have minimal impact otherwise - not really effecting balance of payments as they slow down both economies.

Your economics are idiotic and fanciful, as is your "Russian tax cuts" stupidity

it's been explained to you that tariffs are nothing more than a tax on consumers and yet you still insist on being an uneducated knuckle-dragger

How can we explain to you that China places tariffs on our products? Implementing Tariffs to force a trading partner who is not interested in fair trade is smart. Where did you learn to negotiate? The DNC cracker jacks certification?

It's posts like these that come back to haunt you, and completely undermine any argument you make on the subject.
your prognostications fly in the face of economic reality.
any coming economic slowdown ( expected) is not a "recession".
The worlds economies are already slowing down,i ncluding China - except for the USA

Seems like they're a bad idea, then. So why do you support them? Because you have to defend Trump and never admit you're wrong.

Your Russia Tax Cuts failed to grow the market, failed to raise wages by $4,000-$9,000 like you promised, and failed to reduce the deficit.

Trump put the tariffs in place that caused this shit to happen.
