Starbucks CEO Howard Shultz for president

Hello DonaldvoTrumpovich,

Our previous Constitution allows for Americans to criticize our government.
Are you trying to suppress my First Amendment rights of free speech?

Not at all. I support your right to express myself. I'm just doing the same thing as you.

You think our Founding Fathers would be pleased with the current state of our government?

I don't.

No, I don't think so either. Our founding fathers would be abhorred at all the money being thrown at our government, and how much influence it has produced for the elite. It would probably make them cry.

I think they would want to amend the Constitution to stop that. Shall we brainstorm and see if together we can write such an amendment? Tell you what. I'll begin a thread for that. Look for it soon coming to a General Politics Forum near you!

If Schultz wants to run for president, he should do it as a centrist democrat?!!

Good idea. I would start with Term Limits for Congress and a Balanced Budget amendment.

I hope and expect him to run as an Independent. I hope and expect him to cost the Democrats the election.

Shultz makes me nervous for a couple reasons.

One is that he is electable. He could win by bleeding support from Trump. Many Trump supporters are ‘economy first’ advocates and if Shultz presents his case in such a way that he appeals to this bloc of voters, then Shultz could win by building a coalition from both major parties.

Secondly, Shultz could force democrats towards the middle. We need democrats to be cray-cray going into 2020 lol. I’d prefer he ran as a democrat [because they’re too far gone to nominate him] or just stay out of it altogether.

The Dems won't allow themselves to moderate. An independent run would threaten to flip blue states (like WA), but not any red states.
