Let's take your definition of 'climate' as 'weather in a region over a long time'. How long is 'a long time'? Seconds? Days? Months? Years? Centuries? Millennia? Longer? And how big is a 'region'? The size of a room? A house? A block? A neighborhood? A town? A city? A county? A nation? A continent? A hemisphere? A world? How do you describe the weather over any of these regions?

Define 'climate change'.

Not at all. I thought that it was a very good question. It highlights the vagueness and subjectiveness of the terminology being used. What you might consider to be "a long time", I might consider to be a rather short period of time. I also might find, say, 'five years' to be "a long time" in one instance, but "a short time" in another instance (perspective).

"Five years" is something that holds a specific and constant meaning. "A long time" means different things for each person (for each circumstance, for each perspective, etc).

If not- YOU reply to the dullard.

I don't have a response to his questioning, as I'd be asking those same questions myself; YOU are the one talking about "climate change" and "regions" and "long periods of time"... I would simply want to know WTF you're even trying to express... YOU are the one who needs to answer those questions.

It would be appreciated, I'm sure, by any other addlepates that don't know the difference between ' climate ' and ' weather '.
