Medicare for All: Last Week Tonight with John Oliver

Maybe, but the point is the private insurance will try to push off the most costly clients while keeping the least costly. That's how they profit in general - that's why Obamacare is a partial failure.

Hey, if we have Medicare for All, then let them. As long as everyone has the option of a good healthcare system.

What I'm hoping for is that so many people leave their private insurance, that all those companies go under. Now until that happens, it might cost the federal government some money, unless they refuse to pick up the difference. Hopefully, they will refuse that, while also encouraging people to make the switch.

In other words, use government force to get people to do what you want?

That's a nice feel good thing to say but part of the issue is that healthcare is so complicated, and unexpected things happen that might not be covered, who knows if you're really getting a good plan at a fair price.

Someone without care now can have it if you're willing to prove you care as much as you claim. Pay their bills but don't take credit if taxpayers do it because you refuse.

He, like all you lefties, aren't worried about a good plan or the price. Your concern is that the government controls your life.

... Are you illiterate?

I can read what you say. It's clear that's not what you mean.

You lefties claim to care about people that don't have proper coverage/care. Funny thing is you show it by wanting someone else taxed to fund it while taking credit as if it actually came from your pocket. You lefties are more than willing to spend someone else's money.

If it's private insurance, then you're probably not. That's why I think when Medicare for All is a thing, most Americans will voluntarily leave their private insurance.

There are plenty of people working full time jobs who still can't afford healthcare.

Americans apparently enjoy being looted by healthcare companies.

Leftists apparently prefer it when it is the Government looting them.

We get terrible care for high prices or often none at all.

That is an outright lie. There is no credible data supporting such bullshit.

Wasn't Obamacare going to solve all of this? Ten years later, the same leftists who bloviated about how terrible things were, still bloviate abvout how terrible things are.

We are all an accident or illness short of a disaster. Our system is simply wrong.

So Obamacare claims were all lies. ;)

There is no good when it involves government control. Government control involves mismanagement, losing our liberties and freedoms and increased costs for everyone. ;)

Private companies have mismanagement too.
Losing our liberties? That hasn't happend yet. Also hasn't happened in countries with universal healthcare.
There will be higher taxes, but the savings will be better.

Simply create a Medicare buy-in for those who want it while leaving private plans alone.

That won't work because when given a choice, most sane Americans choose private plans. That is why, regardless of employment or coverage, we are all FORCED to sign onto Medicare at age 65.

Raise Medicare taxes .5% and SS to 1,000,000 per individual, and all of the health care issues will go away.

Health care issues aren't about money. You're either uneducated, or very poorly informed.

Try rereading the comment. I'm saying that people will voluntarily leave their private insurance because the government insurance is better.

You're the one that said you hope the federal government takes actions to "encourage" people to switch. That's a nice way of saying you want the government to make it where there is no other choice. In other words, force people into that situation.
