So you want a trophy to someone for something other than the fact that they had one job to do and couldn't do it. So you want to feel better about that loser by building a statue to them to find something worth celebrating.

That is exactly what participation trophies are for.

It is erected for the purpose of veneration and public commemoration.

I doubt you have ever even read a book on Robert E Lee, which makes your claim to being the defender of historical scholarship dubious at best
