Republicans and Limbaugh are Racist - Now Zero Doubt

Oh wait... There is no CONSERVATIVE Party!

So fucking what? It's called SATIRE! It's what ENTERTAINERS often do to ENTERTAIN! MORON!

Should I ask my black friend who contributes to the United NEGRO College Fund, or the one who sings NEGRO Spirituals?

Maybe YOU should reflect on what an uptight hypersensitive ASS you are being? And maybe you should avoid hypocrisy by dropping your "racial slur" of a moniker.... I BE ONE!
Right the United Negro College Fund, that's pretty much all the ownage you need in this thread. It's not a dirty word and the song is a parody.

Whether you find the word "Negro" offensive or not surely the bigger point here is that you have a politician in the 21st Century who sees no problems in circulating "Barack the Magic Negro" CD's. I mean, is this bloke a genuine idiot?

Even if you don't find it offensive, or regard it as racist, everyone with an ounce of sense can see that there are going to be repercussions flowing from it. The fact that some Republicans fail to grasp this is one reason why many people view them as a downright nasty party.

The song, which Obama himself has said he is not offended by, is done in the parody voice of Al Sharpton. The lyrics (set to 'Puff the Magic Dragon') go like this...

Barack the Magic Negro lives in D.C.
The L.A. Times, they called him that
'Cause he's not authentic like me.

Yeah, the guy from the L.A. paper
Said he makes guilty whites feel good
They'll vote for him, and not for me
'Cause he's not from the hood.

See, real black men, like Snoop Dog,
Or me, or Farrakhan
Have talked the talk, and walked the walk.
Not come in late and won!

Refrain:
Oh, Barack the Magic Negro, lives in D.C.
The L.A. Times, they called him that
'Cause he's black, but not authentically.

(repeat Refrain)

Some say Barack's "articulate"
And bright and new and "clean"
The media sure loves this guy,
A white interloper's dream!

But, when you vote for president,
Watch out, and don't be fooled!
Don't vote the Magic Negro in
'Cause... (then sharpton goes on a ranting tangent as the chorus continues)

-----------------------------------------------------

Now, I am sorry all you pinheads have your panties in a wad about it, but this is not racist, and it is funny. I do agree with Newt however, the guy circulating this CD should not be considered for a leadership role of the party. Political party leaders should be above endorsing comedy parodies or CD distribution.

Dixie's quoting fucking Booker T Washington to claim that it's a modern, commonly accepted term? Jesus.

Dixie, do you know anything about how the modern black community views BTW? It's not favorable. If you know anything about the man, you should be able to tell me why.

Charver got it spot on. The fact that a politician thinks it's okay to circulate this tripe (and a politician who's making a bid for the leadership of the RNC no less) is very telling.

It's inappropriate for the person who wants to be leader of the party to do but that makes them racist? I'm simply projecting here but it must make you feel superior to try and call everyone else racist to make you feel so open-minded and good about yourself.

I don't go around trying to defend the term "negro" or circulating CDs with an offensive song on it to get the nomination of a party that is lately not so covertly racist. I also don't support a party that fosters such people. Go me.

I'm LOL on two counts. One is you do support Democrats and to say there is no racism is the Democratic Party is beyond laughable. Second the song is a parody. Yes I understand for some white folks saying anything about black folk, even funny, is off limits. I'm sorry you feel that way. Maybe not in your world but in the real world there are actually black folk that can laugh at jokes at their expense just as many other people do.

no one would deny that there are racists in the ranks of the democratic party, least of all ib1... what he would deny, and what I would deny, is that the democratic party "fosters" such people. To the contrary, we barely tolerate them, if that.

Well, okay, so you don't find Booker T credible, how about The One?

"You know, I have not heard it but I've heard of it," Obama said. "I confess that I don't listen to Rush on a daily basis. On the other hand, I'm not one of these people who, who takes myself so seriously that I get offended by -- by every -- every comment made about me. You know, the -- you know, what Rush does is entertainment, and although it's probably not something that I listen to much, I don't -- "

"But you said not every day, so you do listen a little then, and why wouldn't you?" Smith interrupted.

"I don't mind, I don't mind, I don't mind folks poking fun at me," Obama said. "That's part of the job."

Wow... So, Obama doesn't seem to think the parody was a "racial slur" or anything other than "poking fun" at him, which he is cool with! It's your uptight 'closet racist' ass that is 'offended' by this, and let me explain why...

Freudian Projection. You probably suffer from Narcissistic Personality Disorder, but I would have to counsel with you further to make that diagnosis. Freudian Projection is a defense mechanism often used by people with NPD, in which one attributes one’s own unacceptable or unwanted thoughts and/or emotions to others.

With all due respect I would argue you have tolerated them, Jesse Jackson being a main one that comes to mind.

Now I'm trying to say there aren't racists within the Republican Party because unfortunately there are. And as I've said a couple times on this thread what the guy did who distributed this tape was not worthy of being the head of the Republican Party.

It was more my perceived holier than thou original post which caught my attention.

when was the last time Jesse Jackson held any position - elected or appointed - within the democratic party?

I'd bet money nobody on this board goes around addressing black people as "negro" because they know it's terrible. Not even Dixie would do that, but he'll come on here and pretend that it would be perfectly okay. It's called "dishonesty."

If you like more recent how about Robert Byrd? I'm not even talking his past I'm talking about in a national interview referring to people as white niggers. If the argument here is the term negro in a parody is offensive where would white nigger in a real interview rank?

As Booker T said (yes, I know you don't respect him), it is appropriate when delineating the race of a person, and it should be capitalized. It is not an appropriate "address" of a person, maybe that is where you are confused. The parody song you are harping about, doesn't "address" Obama as "negro" it delineates his ethnic heritage in proper context.

when was the last time Rush Limbaugh held office?

They are both dangerous because the elicit media attention and inspire their respective racists.

Too bad you're too dishonest to admit this is the reality. What else do we expect from a partisan jackass like you?

Yet some of us are republican. Maybe the original assertion that all republicans are racist would be wrong.

Also it should be noted that the Chair is totally ripping the dude for this.
