I have earned the right to party, after eight years of Bush and four years of working to get Obama elected. I started to encourage him the moment I saw him at the 2004 convention. I have worked behind the scenes when I was able, I am a cancer survivor during this time and I am fucking happy as hell that this man is our president.

May we still say fuck?

What is the amount that has been donated towards this event, and the sales of the Obama "stuff"?

I would be interested in seeing a price tag. It would have been great of him to cancel the party, but I feel America would have felt cheated. they are ready to party and it is a moment in history.

Maybe, if we all wrote our Congress people we can get this tradition changed in the future, but until then, I plan to be a hypocrite and party with Obama and America!:clink:

wasnt talking about you, it was more directed at the dems and obama, they havent done anything yet, why party... and to say thet they won this election erned it for em, well it shouldnt have been as close as it was... big deal

and i am not tring to tell people that they shouldnt be happy, they should be, but the people who say they represent the people, in my eyes have no reason to be partying...

They're going to spend mega-millions on his inaguration, much of which is coming from the same corporations he wants to give billions to, and the same corporations who bankrolled his campaign .. and I'm being different because I don't agree with that bullshit.

Come to think of it, I do like being different.

not sure anyone knows the exact figure yet...but bush's was vastly donated if i remember correctly....regardless...it is hypocritical for you to say that the dems would feel cheated if they don't get this party and its moment in history when bush did't deserve his? that is partisan meadowmuffins at its finest.

obama who ran an economical platform and who says he wants to get us out of this mess is now going to spend, probably, the most of amount of money ever on his party...its ok with the dems because its a dem, but you know full well if mccain was spending this the dems would be crying niles all over egypt.

I must say Darla, I feel sorry for you going to Washington. Besides the fact that you will freeze your butt off, the crowds are going to be unbearable. I'm glad I'm staying away from there.

But, I am sure that the event will be well worth attending regardless of whom I supported in the election. It has got to be a sight to see... um, I just hope you can get close enough to see... and that the lady standing in front of you, isn't wearing a humongous hat!!
