Time To Recognize Who We Are; Reunite America

There are court cases in several states yet to be determined by the S.C.

He’s behind due to the cheating Democrats who blocked windows at vote count locations, would not allow Republican election observers near the

ballots, destroyed Trump votes on camera, and counted votes beyond the close of Election Day.

The SC will decide.

No they won't!Face it your Messiah lost.

Hello cawacko,

I am entitled to my view just as much as anyone else is. My view has no bearing on the market. It's not like I have any special levers I can pull to make my wish come true. If anybody who opposes Biden wants to wish for the market to drop in hopes that it will hurt Biden they have that right. Everyone is entitled to their own view.

I am not asking everyone to have the same views. All I am saying is that the way we present them to one another should be just the way you and I already discuss these things, in a manner of mutual respect for one another. We are able to do that even though we disagree. Others need to learn from our example and drop all the hatred.

There is no reason to call people bad names because of disagreement.

Hatred makes no logical sense.

Everyone needs to learn to control their emotions more like you and I are able to do.

Unity is already happening. You and I are an example of it. We agree that civil discourse is best.

America needs more of that and less of the hatred and dehumanization that serves no beneficial purpose.

No, you aren't. You have everyone you disagree with on ignore. Pathetic cunt...

You did nothing but bash us Conservatives and the president since his election, fuck you and the horse you rode in on.
You slime-balls divided this country with your accusations of racism, and everything else (too many to mention here), now live with it.

The election is over.

Our nation has been torn apart by very different ideas. Not only do Americans disagree on what our government should do, we don't even agree on basic facts. That is because we now get our information from two entirely different streams of non-overlapping sources.

We are really two nations sharing one government and one land.

If that is not difficult enough, we have a lot of forces seeking to keep this division as polarized as possible, making great profits from whipping up hatred, and dehumanizing 'the other side.'

There is no pretending that we only disagree during election season and then go back to 'normal life' afterwards any more. It's like we are in constant election season and it never ends.

The best thing we can do is recognize that our fellow Americans do not share our beliefs but they do share our country.

We know that we have to live together.

The best thing we can do is to remember that we must share this country, and resign ourselves to accepting that it takes all of us to make America what it is.

Bitter hatred and disrespect is not helpful at all, accomplishes nothing, makes us dysfunctional.

We have big enough differences without adding hatred on top of everything else. We have to try to rise above that.

Our challenge is rediscover respect for one another.

If America is really great then part of that has to mean we respect all Americans. A hateful and bitterly divided nation cannot be great.

David Brooks:

"Well, if ever there was a campaign that was going to be a blowout, I thought this was it. I thought we had an unpopular president that people were ready to get rid of. I expected a large margin. And I was wrong. It's a 2.8 percentage margin nationally.

And so I think what we have learned is that we a very evenly divided nation, two groups of people in non-overlapping universes. For a time, it seemed — and I think people in both camps thought, well, the people on my team could eventually crush the people on the other team, and my team will get to rule.

I think we now have to face reality. That's just never going to happen. The other side is never going to go away. And we have got to find a way to live with each other.

And so, to me, that's the biggest takeaway of where we are right now."

That's the tone of this excellent discussion of where we stand as a nation:

Shields and Brooks on PBS Newshour

"A nation divided against itself cannot stand."

Abe!

Oh, so now you want to reunite.

After the daily...hourly attacks on the president and his family, you want to reunite.

Perhaps you can “reunite” after cheering the economic loss of millions of Americans and their families caused by the virus from China that China failed to contain.

There will be no reuniting and Biden is not the president-elect.

The Supreme Court has not spoken.

You sure showed the premise was correct in one post.

Hello cawacko,

I would never suggest in any way you aren’t entitled to your view. It’s simply transparent the supposed desire for unity now after all that was said previously.

I have always been for unity as Americans with mutual respect. From the beginning here, I have been a voice for civil discourse and respect for people who hold opposing views. I have never said anything bad about the right. You won't find any examples of me name-calling or putting down other posters. I have consistently disagreed with their ideas. Unity on sharing the nation does not preclude disagreement on what government should do.

It is a matter of what to take issue with.

Attack the message, not the messenger.

A meaningful discussion can not be had when it just turns into a name-calling contest. That doesn't accomplish anything.

Do you think it was easy for me to go from having a president in Barack Obama with whom I supported much of what he stood for, and then go to a president like Trump who I've found practically nothing he does that I can agree with, and still give him the basic respect of calling him President Trump? I did that because I knew the tables would turn at some point, and I would feel disingenuous asking for something I wouldn't even do.

Now that has apparently happened so I am asking people to unite as Americans (with obvious differences) and show respect for one another simply as Americans. We have one president serving us all. We must respect the office because the office holder represents us all.

You cunts never accepted Trump as president. Fuck you...

He is talking reuniting. What does that post have to do with that?

PoliTalker:

'If anybody who opposes Biden wants to wish for the market to drop in hopes that it will hurt Biden they have that right. Everyone is entitled to their own view."

He cheered when the market crashed in Feb.-March.

Millions of investors lost market value and PoliTalker cheered.
