WTF is a "just economy'?

The economy is the same as the environment right now.

With the environment, the planet is literally screaming at us that our course is unsustainable, but many on the right don't seem to see it. They think that no changes are needed.

It's the same economically. Poverty in the world is pretty staggering. Poverty in America is the same. We have become a nation of haves and have nots, and the gap between rich and poor only keeps trending up. It's pretty easy to see where it's headed.

And yet many on the right think that no changes are needed.

It’s another way of saying socialism lol.

Spread the misery around. It’s never worked anywhere it’s been tried and often ends in bloodshed.

multinational corporate behavior does need to be reigned in when they're parasitizing nations.

this can be solved with tariffs and immigration laws, however. trumps solutions.

My thoughts are this, we need to continuously evaluate what can be considered exploitation of labor, and root it out.

plus we need outright industry protectionism on certain sectors:

food production

pharmaceuticals

tech

military

construction materials

we can let china have baubles and bric a brack

Tariffs are a tax on US you idiot, and immigration laws do nothing when multinationals outsource labor anyway.

What we NEEDED was the TPP.

I don't know about all that. A big part of the appeal of Trump was his claims that the elites were running the economy and the American workers were getting screwed. Bad trade deals, China etc. etc. were hurting America.

Those on the left and right may have differing visions of how they would 'fix' our economy but saying those on the right don't think changes are needed is false.

Dems never talk about economic opportunity. everything is a zero sum game with them

tax da rich /feed the poor / till there are no /rich no more (Alvin Lee)

"A rising tide lifts all ships" is beyond their simplistic view of economics to grasp
they prefer less wealth - a smaller pie -as long as the slices are equal

They dont understand a dynamic economy

Stupid. Trump supporters are assholes.

The biggest change needed can be found in the 6 inch space between peoples ears. The sense of entitlement by many on the left is off the charts when it comes to GIMME GIMME GIMME. So much so that most people cant even take it serious,.... its just something to be laughed at.

We don't strive hard enough for equal opportunity. Maybe it's just a concept - but some people shouldn't have to work 10x harder just to escape their circumstances.

That's a good counterpoint - but I'm probably thinking more of fundamental changes to our system.

Trump talks about things being "rigged" all of the time. The system right now is definitely rigged for the haves.

Well, no, BE.

Income differences are the goal. You avoid drugs and alcohol, get a good education, work hard and you are rewarded with a higher standard of living than those who don’t.

The American dream of your children having a better life than you remains extant...for a while longer until the Socialists “change America fundamentally.”

And who deciedes who gets to live on beachfront property and who lives on top of the old landfill in your libtopia, ... you?

how about disallowing imports from countries that use de facto slave labor?

How about forcing those countries to abandon slave labor, that effectively does the same thing and also helps out the people of that country.

That's what the TPP could have accomplished. The TPP specifically didn't include China in order to give it the best competition. China would have had to step up it's game labor-wise if it wanted to play ball.

Indeed.

The Socialists will decide, Bd.

The Socialists won’t be living on top of the old landfill.
