Traitors.

Bullshit! Obamacare passed on a strict party line vote with no Republican support.

I meant the left compromised internally with the Democrats. That was the compromise.

No she wasn't. The Republicans didn't have any say in her nomination.

Again, this isn't about you. This is about the left compromising with the Democratic Establishment.

Democrats no longer compromise on anything.

How can you compromise with people who oppose democracy? How can you defend them?

What are you going to do about it, big guy? Put on a pink pussy hat and write a strongly worded letter of protest? Maybe just an angry Tweet?

Or I could come up with a completely phony baloney position that postures wisdom when all it really postures is laziness....you know, like what you do here.

It's easy not to take sides when you don't challenge yourself on anything because you've had everything handed to you your entire life.

Every time I think the Republicans have hit the bottom of the barrel they manage to find a basement under the dungeon in a grave in the pits of hell. Stealing two SCOTUS seats was unforgivable. Electing Trump was the nail in the coffin for me. This attempt to undo the votes of the American people means that these people do not belong in our society. They are enemies of American democracy.

This proves it's not Trump, it's Conservatism. It's always been this way.

I think there are some positive qualities to conservatism. The problem is the Republican party and the far right media. They began their descent into hell decades ago. They decided that the ends justify the means and then began a campaign to dumb down, misinform, and radicalize their base. Well, mission accomplished. We now have tens of millions of unthinking, misinformed, batshit crazy robots who haven't had an independent thought in who knows how long. I had hoped that decent people would try to retake the Republican party and restore it, but they were shoved out of it or abandoned it.

If this is true, you are releasing PM information which is a violation of the TOS of JPP.

So, you are either a liar or in violation of the TOS of JPP., cobarde.

Well, I do have my vote and my vote does count for something down here, which is why I'm voting for Ossoff and Warnock, both of whom support Medicare for All, marijuana legalization, and higher taxes on the wealthy.

For me, they gave up the game in 1955 when Buckley wrote that Conservatism "stands athwart history, yelling stop!"

Think about that in context of 1955...what had just happened? Brown v. Board of Education and the start of the Civil Rights Movement.

Conservatism was the racist reaction to Civil Rights. Buckley saying he wants to stop history is also him saying he wanted to perpetuate segregation, making segregation a Conservative position.

And guess what? It still is their position today.

WHY do you want to tax the wealthy at a higher rate than others? Dont you support equality? If a poor man and a rich man both go to the store for a gallon of milk they both pay the same price, as it should be. You know what I support FULLY? A flat income tax. EVERYBODY pays,.... no write offs or loop holes of any kind. No getting money back at the end of the year for lower income people. Arrive at a tax rate and thats what it is for everyone. Doesnt matter if you are a billionaire or a burger flipper,.... same rate. In this way everyone has skin in the game FOR A CHANGE.

WHY do you want to tax the wealthy at a higher rate than others?

Because they will never spend the money they hoard.

Dont you support equality?

Sure, but not when it comes to taxation.

If a poor man and a rich man both go to the store for a gallon of milk they both pay the same price, as it should be.

Right, that's a Sales Tax. Usually put in there by the State, not the Federal government. There is no federal sales tax, there are only state sales taxes.

10% of $50,000 is going to have a much bigger impact on someone's ability to be a consumer than 10% of $500,000 would. Or 10% of $5M, for that matter. That's why a flat tax is a dumb idea.

No getting money back at the end of the year for lower income people.

Ummm, that's a refund on their taxes, not the government handing money to people.

no write offs or loop holes of any kind.

Hey, I agree that the tax code should be simplified, but a Flat Tax isn't the answer.

Arrive at a tax rate and thats what it is for everyone.

But that doesn't make sense with the economic realities of wages.

Doesnt matter if you are a billionaire or a burger flipper,.... same rate.

Look, I get why you want a Flat Tax...math is too complicated for you and you need things to be simple so you can wrap your head around them. But there's nothing simple about funding a government. Treating government budgets like personal budgets is stupid because governments don't die, so there's no date at which the balance is due. Government also doesn't collect the same amount of revenue each month. It varies wildly.

In theory, we could borrow infinitely and indefinitely and it won't affect the economy in any meaningful way. What does affect the economy is cutting government spending because you're not replacing that spending with new spending in the economy. So that ends up contracting the economy. And an economy that contracts means it's in a recession. It's no coincidence that recessions usually follow tax cuts. It's happened twice this century already nationally.

3% national sales tax on all non essential goods and services above and beyond the state sales tax. EVERYBODY pays. This SHOULD shut up those who want to sock it to the rich. The more you make,... the more you spend,...just the way life is. That way those earning more would be paying more as they are buying more.
