Yep. You can't put racist or other slurs in thread titles, but saying the n-word repeatedly seems to be okay. Misogyny and homophobia are also permitted.

I'm a moderate liberal Democrat who voted for Joe, voted for sane mature leadership. He was not my first choice, but I am pleased with his performance so far.

We need an opposition party to keep us in check. The Republican party is having an identity crisis. The old GOP is dying, and being replaced by radical extremists.

I never did see how they could hate government but then want to be the ones who run what they hate.

If the GOP melts down and Democrats don't have any guardrails, we would do things that would surely raise strong objections with the rest of the USA. Not good.

The country needs to drop the we/they animosity, begin ignoring the extremists, and have some mature discussions about policy.

I don't give racists or fascists any quarter. if that means you will protect racists in this thread or your threads you are correct we wont be talking long. I am not sure what you mean you have your own policy or what the consequences would be for violating it but rest assured, I will stand up to fascists and racists every time. we all should.

Thankfully since the #FailedCultCoup, we have seen a great decline in the more virulent Reichwingers' attendance here. There are still some Klingons but for the most part the level of discourse has improved, IMO.

Earl has disappeared. He made such a fool of himself I guess he figured he couldn't show his face, at least under that name. I'm sure he's one of the noobies. SmarterthanYou appears to have disappeared, I am beginning to think he was involved in the capitol insurrection and has been indicted. He was easily the most likely candidate here for that. The rest of them seem to have lost their mojo. They just start thread after thread of grievances and white man's burden.

If Middle America and the Deep South choose to stay together, fine.

Coastal progressives cannot share a nation with these pathetically regressive and morally deficient people (or devolved mutants as the case may be).
We cannot live within the same borders and share the same government.
What's happening right now proves it pretty convincingly.

The American Dream is getting a job, house with white picket fence, supporting a wife, some kids..
and a boat or RV and taking a 2-week vacation every year.

Over some decades, the politicians have stripped some of the wealth and upward mobility from the people.
While not as easily doable as in decades past, it is still doable.
I would like to roll things back to when most people had a good shot at it.
What I was taught when I was an apprentice at 23, worked then for just about everybody but doesn't now...yet it still works for me somehow.

I was told this:
1 week's worth of work should pay for your housing. The next week's pays for bills and groceries.
The next 2 you can either save or blow, up to you. I chose/choose to save and eat cheap. (A lot of the time)

A big problem nowadays is step 1 isn't so doable these days. Insurance and municipalities and the Fed have all contributed to the cost of housing rise.

No way I support or defend racists or fascists. I can always be counted on to oppose hatred.

I have a feeling the two of us will be just fine. We are of similar views.

As for my policy, I simply refuse to talk to overt racists or people who disrespect me. I put them on Ignore; and I never take anyone off Ignore. Naturally, I have a large Ignore list. That is by design. I fully expected to do that when I decided certain people are not worth my time to talk to.

I prefer to seek out the polite participants for mutually respectful discussions here. As long as you don't try to make things personal with me we can have many great conversations. And you can trust that I will not do that to you either. Fair enough?
