I don't support "free college" but I fully support making college cheaper and more accessible to all Americans who want to put in the work.
The Americans should be the managers, drivers, maintenance personnel, etc. Not fruit pickers. If not those jobs, then retrain for something of equal income.

I keep hearing about the Trucking Industry being 'computerized' for Autonomous Drive. Making Truck Drivers obsolete. That's a lot of people, who probably don't have a lot of talents, that will be 'replaced'.
I don't know how sending them all to 'College' will work out. Then ... begin to multiply this phenomenon by all the other jobs that will eliminate Humans.

Yeah. It's all in the 'theme' of the Working Class losing Jobs to Automation, Outsourcing, and Immigration. If you have a choice, it's best to be in the 50% of Americans that are part of the Investing Class, rather than the 50% that are Hand-to-Mouth Worker Drones.

It's not a B&W issue. The jobs of Americans making a living wage making jeans or putting the right front fenders of cars for 20 years are effectively gone. Boutique clothes and specialized cars are a little different.

I'm retired. I'm an Observer of what is occurring. I come to the Political Forum to hear different opinions, views, solutions.Now, I will concede that I'm on the losing end of this Argument. Even the Right supports 'Legal Immigration', which I oppose on the same reasoning.
The Left seems to be caught up with 'We're Nice People', rather than being pragmatic about the Future of the American Working Class.
My Argument entails more. 'Quality of Life' (who wants to live in Bombay, Shanghai, or Jakarta?). 'Environment' (more people means more degradation of the natural environment). 'Carrying Capacity of the Planet' (at some point Food Production can't meet demand ... think 'Soylent Green').

No dude, what we need is a global framework. The 1% want you to think one nation vs. the other is greater or lessor. We, ARE ONE humanity. How we get there is in different places and different times but it requires a more conscious bottom up, biological framework. We need to be engaged with where labor, people and humanity IS for the future of global stability. No systems owns the future of this 'shmere' on the planet called life, it requires all hands on deck. Do you grasp this? Seriously, do you?
