The only revelation which would be capable of causing my shattered soul further grievous damage would be if you said this was a FOREIGN dog he was bowing down to.

The dog is MEXICAN!

Good God!

Where is the OUTRAGE?

BOWING down to FOREIGN animals is obviously only the first step to outright COMMUNISM and FASCISM.

Of course WHERE are the LEFT WING mainstream media when all this is going on?

NOWHERE, that's where. Afraid to say anything about so called President OSAMA in case they offend the MUSLIMS.

POLITICAL CORRECTNESS GONE MAD!!!1!!111ONE!!1THEYCUTOFFHEADSYOUKNOW!!!!!!1111!!!1

lame...

that you can't accept the factual difference between an actual bow and bending over is sad...

i'm surprised you haven't posted pictures of obama bending over and tying his shoes and calling that bowing, next thing you'll post is obama bending over to pick something up and you'll say thats a bow as well....

face it, your guy is the only US president to bow to a muslim king, head nod to the queen, full bow to a muslim king...

I noticed he "bowed" slightly less deeply to shake the dogs hand than he did for the Arabian dude. Was he saying the Arabian dude was shorter than the dog? I'm just saying, it seems rather interesting that his excuse that he was bending over to shake a shorter man's hand is pretty much gone now, we see he didn't even have to bend over that far to shake the dog's paw...

The dog is awesome BTW.

Your guy kissed them and held their hand.

That is not what fucked this country up.

It was his idiotic policies hell bent on handing everything to the corps and even fighting wars for profit for them with our blood and treasure.

"Their guy" didn't try to make up excuses for it afterward and pretend he hadn't done it...

Weakness is pretending that you have to stick your ass in the air to shake a 5'9" man's hand, then later showing that it wasn't necessary to do the same when shaking a 2'6" dog's paw.

apples/oranges to bowing all the way over to a foreign leader and you know it

Wow, you guys really do have your panties in a bunch about this shit.

Edit: I thought it was just the neo-con nutters that were paid to act like this that pretended to care. I guess I gave you folks too much credit.

i love the dem defense of bush did it too.....some change we got
It seems to be the only "reason" they have... it's actually quite funny to watch. Often people would use Clinton as an example when defending Bush and they would talk about how he wasn't in office anymore....

yes, in fact at times i used the clinton did it too defense when it was the same exact thing...and every time these same people who use the bush defense now, would say how lame it is i used that defense....

Exactly.

I don't really "care" so much, I just think it was weak as hell when he tried to explain it away rather than just say, "so?"

Fair enough. i don't know that he was personally asked about the bowing ithing but he was asked about the Chavez handshake and basically ssid "so?":

Q During the campaign you were criticized by some within your own party for perhaps not being able to be tough on foreign policy matters. Now you've had this friendly interaction with Mr. Chavez. Are you concerned at all about how this might be perceived back in the U.S. as perhaps being soft? Already one senator is calling this friendly interaction irresponsible. And as a quick follow-up, if I may, when you got the book from Mr. Chavez, what did you really think? (Laughter.)

THE PRESIDENT: I think it was a nice gesture to give me a book; I'm a reader. And you're right, we had this debate throughout the campaign, and the whole notion was, is that somehow if we showed courtesy or opened up dialogue with governments that had previously been hostile to us, that that somehow would be a sign of weakness. The American people didn't buy it. And there's a good reason the American people didn't buy it -- because it doesn't make sense.

You take a country like Venezuela -- I have great differences with Hugo Chavez on matters of economic policy and matters of foreign policy. His rhetoric directed at the United States has been inflammatory. There have been instances in which we've seen Venezuela interfere with some of the -- some of the countries that surround Venezuela in ways that I think are a source of concern.

On the other hand, Venezuela is a country whose defense budget is probably 1/600th of the United States'. They own Citgo. It's unlikely that as a consequence of me shaking hands or having a polite conversation with Mr. Chavez that we are endangering the strategic interests of the United States. I don't think anybody can find any evidence that that would do so. Even within this imaginative crowd, I think you would be hard-pressed to paint a scenario in which U.S. interests would be damaged as a consequence of us having a more constructive relationship with Venezuela.

In fact, he seems to be saying "So what? Those guys are jackasses," albeit very politely.

I would have shook Chavez' hand too. I'll bet if the hand were offered, so would Bush. Although Bush wasn't likely to go and sit for hours as leader after leader lambasted America in some sort of weird, more serious, version of a celebrity roast and therefore wouldn't like have the chance to shake that hand.

Remember when GWB was photographed holding hands with Saudi Prince Faud!
Yep, it was mentioned earlier in the thread.

Oh, and Dung. When I said "he said" I was talking about the Administration, as people often do with Presidents. When people complained about the bow, he (the Administration again) sent out a dupe to tell everybody he was just bending over because the dude was so short. He should have just said, "Oh please! Give it a rest!" and moved on. Let them complain, but don't pee on my window and tell me it's really raining.
