That's not bad at all though, at least in our limited experience. I don't think we've ever gotten an airfare to AK for under $700. You get direct flights too, from Houston, right? Maybe that's why it was always more for us; we had to bounce all over the country before getting to ANC. Atlanta? Really? We're going north but first we have to go to Atlanta? lol

Many Moons ago I was in JROTC. The city of Leavenworth, KS had a mass casualty exercise with the JROTC unit to be the casualties. Some of us had plastic appliques to slip over arms and legs.

One poor kid was put on a table and had all of his clothes cut away. All of them. Stark naked with a full team of doctors and nurses staring down on him. Quite an experience for a 17 year old. He became our unit hero.

Additionally, the clothes with blood and powder residue would be evidence to be bagged and tagged.

Exactly. One of the functions of government, as someone else just pointed out, is to protect the public interest and public welfare. That means that we can enjoy our freedom without worrying about being creamed by a drunk driver, injured by an unlicensed medical practitioner, sickened by polluted water, or infected by a covidiot.

True, we have laws and Regulations for good reasons, usually because there are enough people that will do whatever they want no matter how much damage they cause to others or the Nation, some will do it just to spite others. When people act like Children the Adults in the room have to treat them as Children. I wish it was not so, but Wishing Ain't Getting, so sometimes you just have take control of the situation.
