The Colorado Shooter Just Sealed the Fate of New AR Sales

We'll just make our own and then sell them. fuck the feds.

and no, just like the dems promised cannabis decriminalization as a top priority, which didn't happen, the repubs will never give away that federal power. the ban, if enacted, will stay there. You CAN bet that the repubs will ban other things that the libs want to keep and they'll have to whine about it to a conservative supreme court.

Or take them off the bodies of an ambushed patrol. :)

The most important thing is to not be in that position in the first place. Yankees can't be trusted, but Civil War is not the answer.

Work smarter, not harder. :D

Right or wrong, depending on your stand on the issue of AR's, the shooter in Colorado just put the nail into the sale of AR's in the near future. He did this far too soon after the Florida shootings and killed too many People, including a Police Officer, for the Republicans to defend not banning them. Last night I was thinking that was what the result of this shooting would be if he used a AR style rifle and he did.

Not more than 10 minutes ago President Biden went on air to talk about the shooting and there it was, a call to pass the new Background Check Law already passed in the House and to ban AR's and high capacity mags. Guess what, it will end up getting passed, if not this week it will be soon, as in the next month or two at the very most.

So, If you want one I would suggest you get it now, that is if you can even find one at any price, they were already being over priced because of the shortage and this will drive the prices even higher, I assure you the gun stores will be very busy today and until they run out of everything. Same goes for Mags and Parts and Ammo which is already hard to get and expensive when you find it.

For those that already own them, you are probably safe, they will never be able to ban ownership if you already legally bought it but they can ban the new sales of them.

For those of that wanted them banned, this is your moment, enjoy it for while it lasts, because if the Conservatives ever get enough power in Washington the first thing will do is kill the ban, count on it.

Is What It Is Folks.

Bullshit. The best weapon for self defense is the one you're most comfortable and proficient with. Shotguns are lethal, but messy.

Agreed on comfort and proficiency, but don't forget lethality. Knock down power.

My adult step-son, who served a tour in the Navy, bought a .22 semi-auto. The price was right, the cost of ammo is good (relative to others), but the lethality sucked unless he put the round through an eye socket and the bullet just bounced around inside the attacker's brain housing a bit.

I gave him a Bersa .380 and some ammo then advised him and his wife to practice as much as possible with the .22 but to also be proficient with the .380.

I also advised a pump shotgun. If I had to use it, the "mess" would be the least of my concerns.

The good news is that a shotgun blast won't penetrate several walls and kill a friendly like a .357 or 9mm. Obviously the smaller the shot, the less penetration.

She probably could teach me a few things. And I could teach her to be proficient with a hi-power rifle.

That girl is a bad ass with a shotgun.

And as that video demonstrates, even a gang of intruders would not stand a chance against her and her Mossberg shotgun. The fire power and short range destruction of her 12 gauge could not be matched by ARs or pistols

In her hands. What about your hands??

Maybe, thing is firearms are already in short supply since early last year, so that may curtail sales, they have been flying off the shelves since March 2020.
Short supply like everything else because the factories shut down for the Trump virus.

Now, just as Biden is getting all Americans vaccinated, S&W, Ruger, Colt and Browning have an incentive to crank up those factories to maximum before the Democrats try to drive them out of business.

She also proved that shotguns do not scatter as so many seem to believe, so yes you still have to aim. While a shotgun is very deadly, many will not prefer them because when you actually use manstopping loads the kick is prohibitive to practicing. Plus the best and most reliable Shotguns are Pump shotguns, which requires a person to rack another round properly during a time of high stress.

My mother in law showed me what she and my father in law, before he passed away, had bought for defense and it was a 20g Rem 870, and she said they shot it once and she did good with it. So I asked her to show me, unloaded of-course, so she goes to her closet and after some digging pulls out the shotgun, in the case, she takes it out and after some more searching found some shells, birdshot. Before I said anything else I asked her to show me what she would do if someone entered the house, she pointed the shotgun at the door and pulled the trigger then looked at me and I said now what, she did not know, I said rack the slide, and she said she forgot that part and did a crap job when she tried. Let's just say I now have the shotgun and she has a nice Kimber .38 special which requires little thought, is very reliable and she comes out to our place or to a local range and shoots at least once a month. Oh I forgot to add she is around 4'7" tall and that 20g was too much for her to handle and her handgun is now in her nightstand and not hidden away in a closet. Thing is get a firearm you can actually use and keep it where you can get to it if needed, otherwise you are wasting your money, and learn how to use it, practice, practice, and practice. Heck I have been shooting all my life but if I go a couple of months without shooting I can tell the rust has started creeping in.

I have three handguns:
Browning Medalist .22 rimfire target pistol
Colt Gold Cup .45 ACP single action 1911 type autoloader.
Ruger Super Blackhawk .44 magnum single action revolver.

I have one shotgun:
Beretta 3" 20 gauge O/U.

I have three bolt-action rifles:
Swedish Husqvarna in .22-250
Remington 40XB [single shot / stainless barrel] in .220 Swift.
drop dead gorgeous Weatherby in .224 Weatherby belted magnum

I have two autoloading rifles:
matching Ruger carbines in .22 rimfire and .44 magnum.

That's nine altogether.
I've been inadvertently lying to you saying that I owned eight.
I haven't played with them for so long that I forgot the actual number.

In the Army, I had an M16, the then recent replacement for the heavy M14,
and to be perfectly honest,
I wouldn't have a piece of shit like that in my home.

If you feel that you need one, more often called AR15,
then you're obviously a depraved criminal.

18.25" 12ga barrel, 5 shot pump with collapsible stock and green laser sight works for me.

Great room or trench sweeper. :)

my point is calling out idiots who think there's no reason for people to own short barreled shotguns because they are not suited for 'defense', then turn around and agree it's ok for the government to have them.................what exactly is the dichotomy there?

Fair enough. I have no problem with sawed off shotguns. It's always nice to have a choice.

what would you call a group of people who identify as your own 'countrymen' when they come after you with weapons and violence to take away your property and/or freedom?

Why would they come after me "with weapons and violence" to take away my property and/or freedom? We're a nation of laws.

We have a couple in common.

The AR platform has improved a Lot since you had an early version of the M16, they are by no means a piece of shit as you claim.

Your last comment is just BS.
