Virginia cops pepper-sprayed Black and Latino Army officer

So it goes into his file...so what?

Clearly that means nothing since he's on video killing a guy.

So the "good cops" did nothing about him other than mark his "file", but those marks didn't disqualify him from being on the beat. So what good did they do?

I can’t help you with the answer to your question.

I'll believe there are good cops the day I see one kneeling on a bad cop's neck for nine and a half minutes.

Right, they're residents, but so is everyone else.

So why can't settlement claims be paid from PBA pensions?

I just told you. However, those elected officials who sign the contracts with the police unions are free to try and put that in a contract, but the odds of it ever being signed by the unions..................1 in not happening ever

Well, the thing is that legislators could just pass a law that drained PBA pensions for settlements. They don't need the PBA to go along with it. They can just do it.

you've been telling us that the courts decide the constitution..............so you obviously idolize the courts over the people.......

No, courts decide on the Constitutionality of laws. That is the sole function of the Judicial Branch. At least, it's supposed to be.

because the courts that you lefties and righties like to worship agreed to classify those complaints as part of a personnel file, thus not subject to public transparency

:) good try. But guess what we lefties have been doing?

MARYLAND USHERS IN SWEEPING POLICE REFORM
CNN.com

Guess what happens to that personnel file? It goes everywhere you go, and it’s transparent. It’s public record. Just one of many changes that we lefties worked to make happen.

If anything need be done, lefties will have to do it.

I feel you brother, but indeed there are some good cops, but departments need to hire better educated cops and hire less hillbillies who have been in the military. That’s part of the reforms that I hope/know you, like me, are demanding.

I heard the Governor of Minnesota call for serious community-oriented policing reforms today, AND there is going to be greater demand for serious Camden-style police reform across much of the country, PARTICULARLY because the whole world is watching.

You are standing in a moment in history my friend. Close your eyes for a moment. You can feel it. Your voice and your passion is needed. In fact, it’s required. The moving finger is writing.

I hope not. :(

I'm trying to be pragmatic here. If you are told to exit the vehicle, how hard is that to do?
If the Cops want to see your Drivers License, that would make sense to me.

Most people (and that would include you and Dutch, along with myself) would easily exit the vehicle if instructed by the Police. I have no idea what they are investigating? A car jacking, ... a kidnapping, a robbery? I support a civil society and a Police Force.

This guy in the Video looked like he was deliberately 'Playing Stupid'. Just a real waste of time for Police if the are investigating a car jacking, kidnapping, or robbery.

if you did nothing wrong, dressed in your uniform as an army officer, cops should not be screaming at you with thier guns drawn because they claimed to have missed your temp tags and your windows are tinted. I bet you both those scumbag cops personal vehicles have blacked out tint.

You may have noticed that in most of these cases, the actual offense is most often minor.

I've bailed on this thread. It seems to have become a Partisan issue rather than Citizen/Police argument.

I have ZERO knowledge as to what the Police were involved in. I'm guessing it WASN'T DWB (Driving While Black) since the windows were tinted and it was night.
I can't quite figure out why the guy refused to exit the vehicle ... was there a dead body in the back? A large satchel of counterfeit 100 dollar Bills? 27 Mexican Immigrants?

Seems like 'Lt. What's going on" is the stupidest Officer in the American Military. Hope he gets a bunch of 'What's going on' types to lead into combat ... as they refuse to obey any Order.

The cop got fired. The state is investigating the entire incident. The Lt. is suing for at least a million.

The Lt. stated he was afraid to get out of his car and the cop’s response? “You should be!”

Then, they made a threat against his career record if he didn’t let it go.

There. That’s non-partisan and the facts.

I generally stay away from predictions, but I’ll make an exception.

The cop stays fired.
Nothing goes on the Lt.’s record.
The Lt. gets a sizable settlement.

:) It's become a 'political issue'.
Like 'OJ Simpson is innocent'.
