What Are The Ways The Cop Could Have Prevented The Stabbing?

No, you aren't, Matt. Despite your claims, you don't walk the walk.

Why do you care what my beliefs are? You made a claim. Are you afraid to stand by it?

Actually, I am!
Why do I care? Well if you are a Christian, you are going about judging incorrectly, if you aren't a Christian, or a non believer, why do you care what I do? I have stopped with insults can you? Why are you so afraid to say whether you are Christian, or not? I know, but I want to here you say it!

Is that what you think Christianity is all about, just stopping to insult lil' ol' me? I disagree.

Dude, what do you think the phrase "talks the talk, but doesn't walk the walk" means when referencing Christians?

You made a claim and, rather than prove me wrong, you ask me questions which have nothing to do with your claim. Why are you evading the fact you're a lip-service Christian who doesn't give a fuck if he attacks, insults or lies about others as long as you're having fun?

I have changed the way I post, that is all I needed to do, no more insults, no more trash talk! You can do, and say what you like, I will no longer respond in kind! I would love to know where I lied about others. The fact that you continue to insult me speaks volumes however, and is total deflection from the question I asked, however the use of profanity, and lying about me, is really all anyone need see to make a pretty educated guess about where you stand! The continued baiting by calling me Matt is also pretty telling.

he wasnt close enough to do anything that would be effective in stooping it, the use of deadly force is allowed to protect your life or others and in instances where you are preventing serious body injury.

by the way thank you for the post its one of the few you made that have a good point

Thank you. From neighbor's video, I judged the distance to be 8 to 10 feet.

However Top convinced me that it wasn't realistic because there were two things going on at the same time. The guy assaulted the lady on the ground and kicked her head. So the cop was between a rock and a hard place. He made a quick decision and it was the correct one.

Good point. While the cow was raising the knife about to stab the victim the cop should have thought, “Now let me think about this situation. what is the weakest part of the arm to neutralize as the attacker raises her arm to take a swing?”

Hence the training. ;)

Whether the officer had realistic alternatives — something many police experts doubt — will be examined in the independent investigation by the Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation. That probe will also need to address the what-ifs: What if the officer hadn’t fired his gun? Would there still have been the loss of life — not of Ma’Khia but of that young woman in pink? There are also deeper questions: Could different strategies of fostering public safety head off violent incidents such as this one before they happen?

Since the death of George Floyd last May, there have been other alarming incidents of Black lives lost at the hands of police, and they have underscored the need for policing reform. But it is unfair and dangerous, particularly for public officials who should know better, to jump to conclusions and paint every officer and every use of force with the same broad brush.

It's tragic, but in this scenario, it's an always shoot scenario, shooting other than to "Stop" ie. kill, gives the attacker more chances to continue the attack. she was a mortal threat to the girl in pink and was met with mortal force.

Yes. Also the guy assaulted the lady on the ground. It's a split second decision.

anyone here paying attention knows that I don't cut cops any leeway, but in this instance the cop was right to do what he did. Anyone thinking differently needs to seek out and take the training course that teaches people this kind of episode and what to do.......take it as many times as you need to in order to finally understand that there are times, like this one, where the ONLY thing you can do is shoot to kill the offender

Yes. Also the more training and fighting, the better. Always have advantages over them. Always. And leverages count.

no amount of training or fighting is going to help prevent someone from stabbing another person if they are within 2 feet of each other and one is armed while the other is not. to think otherwise only displays an appalling lack of rational thought

Perhaps. If I was in that situation and I didn't have a gun, what should I have done? Mind you I would have been 8 feet away.

you might have been able to tackle the attacker AFTER she had already stabbed her victim at least once, probably twice.........which would be all the damage needed for her to succumb to those injuries and die........but you can feel better about yourself for not killing another teenager after she murdered another one
