All this talk about the death of the Republican party.... They will return!

I think it depends on how you define "conservatism". If you define it as radical religious people seeking to retroactively ban gay marriage and other sundry "immoralities" through legislative fiat, then I tend to agree. If you define it as responsible, more efficient, and smaller government advocates who seek to protect the rights of individuals that were guaranteed in the constitution... then no. I do not agree.

And I think if the Nuggets get past the Lakers they will take it all.

I agreeeeee

So many have declared the Republican party dead, or at least relegated to a future of being at most a regional party.... But I disagree.

The Republican party will emerge very strong. Finally the radical wing that was ushered in after the election of Ronald Regan will be oustered, the moderates will win the day. A strong, small government, finscally conservative, socially moderate (liberal by todays conservative standards) will emerge and AMERICA will be better off for it!

Or... They will try to keep the Linbaugh, Gingrich, Cheney, wing of the party and the predictions of death might be correct. Hopefully the radical wing is dying off.

The laws of biology say's they are. Conservatives are doing a lousy job of recrutting young people to their movement. Of course being a conservaitve is about as attractive to a young person as a prune juice enema.

hope the nuggets pull it off
lakers were retarded letting Kobe run off Shaqtastic

Not really. Shaq was the best player of his era but his best days were behind him. I'd like to see the lakers match up against the Cavs and see how well Kobe does against King James. Did you see him win that game last night? What a shot! He bagged a 3 pointer with 1 second left!!

Coaching 2 superstars on the same team is tough if not impossible. Remember Shaq played with Penny Hardaway on the Magic at one time, both were burgeoning stars, it didn't work. Jackson had a similar situation with Shaq and Kobe. Shaq wasn't over the hill, it was just that the team had the wrong personality for a Jackson coached team. Jackson plays Kobe like a violin just as he did when he had Michael. We know Kobe and LeBron are great, who wins will be determined by which is the better team and which team is better coached.

Is the GOP dead? I don't know, maybe Rush/Gingrich/Boehner are the wrong faces for them. It's not as though they inspire warm feelings toward the party.

Hey BAC, check out a book called Black Men Can't Shoot.

It's written by a guy I went to high school with and he and I were on the basketball team together. He is now a professor at UC Riverside. Dr. Scott Brooks.

It just came out and I haven't got my copy yet so I obviously haven't read it but the reviews have been good. Basically he coached I believe a summer league team in Philadelphia for five years or so and wrote about the experience focusing on the kids on his team and their struggles, triumphs etc. Check out the review on Amazon or anywhere else.

Anyhow Scott Brooks is a great guy really dedicating to working with and teaching the youth.

Thanks .. I'll have to check it out.

I also write, so I'll have to give it the critical eye. :)

Yeah, because he is successful and rich.

AIG is the perfect face of the Dems, because it failed completely and needed a handout.

Yeah, all of them, Rush the druggy included, like thieves in the night. You can bet your fanny they didn't vote for Dems. And who was it that asked for the money to bail them out with 3 days to think it over?
